ClashWithEd made a video recently showing the Defence log of the Global #1. He always leaves his home clan for Defence but was only found once by a clan member, who actually 1 starred him.
The chances of finding your own clan member is so small I wouldn't even worry about it.

Say they go to defense, if they win a defense they may get like 1 to 4 trophies. But if they remove the 40% shield they would get attacked again and lose like 39 trophies.
One of the top players yesterday was in a clan called "40% shield = 100$", made me chuckle a little
The tactic is available to everyone and is widely known. I'm sure they are all practicing it as much as possible.
Yeah, no. Maybe, earlier when the leagues were first designed but there are too many ppl in these leagues now it a) Cost enormous amounts of gold to get to this person B) He would already be hit before it happened. Personally, I rarely see a th outside but when I do I take as an invittaion to not only hit his town hall but also ♥♥♥♥ at least one side of his base for loot since I no longer have to worry about the 50%.Plus you can't attack clan members i don't think.
