I think it's sad to see that so many say that mirror attacking is a bad/noob war strategy.. that way you make sure that all bases gets hit, you know what's in all CC's and will hopefully know where most traps are.. enough information for you (that may have to clean up after someone) to three star that base.
If everyone just attacks bases you're comfortable with then how will you improve attacking? If you're a great Gowiwipe attacker or whatever, you can't always take bases that's easy with it, you have to learn other strategies aswell because you won't always get a gowiwipe friendly base every war.
I've tried many other strategies and can tell from my experience that there is no strategy that makes you unbeatable, it's all about skills.
My clan never used this mirror attack strategy. Is poor, dumb, lazy, noob. We aways win when fight against these clans.
we love clans that blindly attack mirror base. I could be wrong, but your clan sounds like it loses a lot of wars.
but frankly I don't give a damn about war loot bonus (other than I'd like everyone to get 100% of it for a win). you attack the bases that you can best exploit for probable 3 stars with your first attack and you clean up later.
You also waste a load of first attacks. Mirrors are not an accurate representation of base weight the whole way down the roster. Sometimes mirrors will be lopsided in your favour (meaning your guy hit someone way too easy and wasted an attack) or not in your favour (meaning your guy had no chance and just wasted an atttack).
If you are aware of each of your attackers troop strengths and preferences, you should easily be able to skim an opposing map and plot out the best bases for each of your crew. Takes five minutes. Blindly telling everyone to attack their mirror is therefore not the best use of your roster and hence why it's deemed a poor strategy.
Mirror attacking works perfectly fine for most wars. We do it and win/tie 90% of our wars. Sometimes, if the other clan has an extra couple TH9s or TH10, we will shift people down or around a bit. If there is a base that one of our hog people would crush for instance, I will reassign that them most likely.
Cleanup is where the wars are won or lost. We have had awful first rounds and then, almost 3 stars up the board by the end of the war.
We've had pretty fresh TH9's being able to 2-3 star the strongest (defensive) enemy TH9's. There have been wars where the enemy team have used their TH10's to attack me (TH9) and lost/got 1 star when a medium TH9 managed to do better with the same strategy. I guess the first guy felt comfortable with it and still didn't do well. Been a lot of wars like this. But doing your strategy, what do you do about the bases that no one wants? Force a guy to take it because he got good troops? Still need skills.
And in my clan most people get 2-3 stars against their mirror, we war with TH7-10 players and been a lot of "unfair" matchups where we've still won and haven't complained. We adjust when it's needed.
