Not able to find dead bases!!!

Hello,
I and my friend are on the same town hall (TH 9) we are in same trophy range. Yet he is able to find dead bases within 5 to 10 searches where as I need to search for more than 40 mins. Is something wrong with my account? This is happening for the past 8 days so I thought it is better to ask how does the search for bases really work?

Same has happened to me on a less extreme scale, I'd rather just go for exposed storages than spend 40 minutes on a search.

1. train a gibarch army
2. hit search
3. grow balls
4. go for storage raids

I think u should start with real attack instead of just barching.

They have been thinned out I believe. Probably to slow the use of farm bots. I never find dead ones anymore and I have 1.5 billion gg and ee.

I agree but even that I am not able to fine... Honestly..many players have tried from my account and they also aren't really able to find any suitable bases.. while they being in the same trophy range get base within minutes... What may be going wrong.. Or is it my bad luck ???
