Perky, thanks for making me laugh! It's the first time I've laughed over HayDay for several days.

Now to get back on track and start to enjoy farming again...

I prefer the new one. I always felt like when they made the soup kitchen they couldn't be bothered to come up with any ideas, so they just re-used the popcorn maker and threw a pot on it. This looks like they spent some time on it.

I have mixed feelings. I loved the cast iron look of the old soup kitchen, and enjoyed the animation.
I love, love, love the animation on this one. The gas flames are too cool, and I like seeing inside the pot as the lid lifts. The pot is cute, too.

I miss the understated cast iron, very much, and am concerned about what this might portend for the other nice pieces; but I am grateful to find something really nice to enjoy about Soup Kitchen version 2.

Sparkly, I just saw your post. I've been eyeing that turquoise Kitchen Aide mixer with wistful longing. Congratulations! I'll bet you love it!
You made me laugh when you mentioned Avocado Green appliances! My first 3 apartments were loaded with Avocado green. The last one even added Avocado green wall-to-wall carpeting and throw-up Avocado green bathroom sinks, toilets and bathtubs. Turquoise I love. Avocado Green? I'd run screaming for the hills!

Glade, I'm so sorry Fred and Hilda lost their romantic table for two! Your picture, with little Freda looking for a treat, is among my favorite HD pictures. That one is worthy of framing.

    I do.

It doesn't fit in with the color palette for the cake oven, sauce maker or salad bar. It doesn't fit well with the Fall color palette. It looks likes a toy soup kitchen.

Sorry developers, it looks awful. Can we have the old design back?

Perhaps the missing bench at the pasta kitchen was in response to the complaints that people thought it was too big.

I don't remember seeing floods of complaints about that. Nor does the footprint seem any smaller to me. The lovely table and chairs are just gone. Please bring the table and chairs back.

The cool thing about the seats in the pasta kitchen was that they allowed you to get right up close with other items: the gnomes looked like they were sitting at the table and you could place pavers beneath them so the kitchen looked more integrated into the general landscape. I believe the footprint is still the same, the profile is just smaller. My gnomes now have to stand to eat their pasta.

Suuuuuure, these new things don't really match stylistically, and they don't go together in a harmonious vision, but we are OBVIOUSLY not doing THAT anymore.

What are YOUR suggestions for what should be the next redesign away from something that looks like it actually might belong on a farm?

Can the ducks use it too? Don't be quackers.

why can't we do this instead????

Don't make me draw a bull in the kitchen -- we have had a souper amount of kitchen bull today, I think, already.

*Whistles* Guys, over here! We found her! I don't know how she escaped, but now that she's been out, she'll probably put up quite a fight, so don't forget to bring the white jacket...and yes, maybe a sedative, too.

And They're coming to take me away Ha Ha
They're coming to take me away ho ho, he he, ha ha

Thank you game designers for the new, shiny soup kitchen.
As for you...in the Boys vs. Girls game, you are going down for taking that side...going down, I say!
