Let's not forget the smoothie machine! Add it to the "doesn't fit the original design" list. And please SC, give our old soup kitchen and pasta table back! And if you feel the need to redesign machines, how about having a go at the smoothie, sewing, hat, etc machines? PLEASE!!! Make them fit in with the charming original style that drew so many of us into your game.

Agreed. Well said. And to echo another forum community member, "if it ain't broke, (please) don't fix it"
"I've grown tired of the articulate utterances of men and things. The mystical in art, the mystical in life, the mystical in nature, this is what I am looking for and in the great symphonies of music, the initiation of sorrow, and in the depths of the sea I may find it. It is absolutely necessary for me to find it somewhere." -O. Wilde

...and let's not forget the jam maker!

There is a precedent for redesigning machines. Somewhere there is a picture of the jam maker before it got a makeover. The original one fit in with the rustic overall feel of the farm. The jam maker was the first machine I hid behind trees. It has since been joined by hats, candy, smoothies and candles.

As someone said, the new soup kitchen with the skull-face white drawers would fit into the town. However, not on my farm. It was one of my favorites. Very sad.

It is interesting that there are farmers who like it. I suspect that means we can expect to see our farms slowly evolve in that direction.

If you're as old as I am you may remember a time when real life home appliances in pink, turquoise blue, sunshine yellow and avocado green were hugely popular. Washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators.
I bought my KitchenAide mixer in turquoise blue because I loved the retro look of it.

And if you have actually had to cook on a black wood stove for years as I have, a little colour is always a plus.

Anyway, there is no accounting for taste or esthetics. What some people like others do not.
Just because you don't happen to like the look of something it isn't fair to criticize the designers.
Excuse me, but I did not criticise the designers, I merely said I wanted my tables and tablecloths back. OK I said the new soup kitchen design sucks, but I was VERY disappointed to lose my pasta kitchen table. It destroyed my whole aesthetics. How is it not legitimate to provide feedback, positive or negative - not that SC takes any notice of what we say? Is not the forum a microcosm of all players, or are the people on the forum a breed apart who think differently from all other HD players? There's a pretty good chance that it is a fairly representative sample of all players.

Another vote to have the old soup kitchen back please and a 'rustic' makeover for the other Barbie inspired machinery (sewing machine, candle maker, candy machine etc). It's a farm not Barbie World.

We need a new cake oven to match the new soup kitchen

If SC graphic artists are redesigning all the rustic farm machines to look like they belong in a diner, instead of on a farm, here's my suggestion for the new cake oven:

New Dairy to go with the new cake oven

We need a new Dairy, like this real old Braums store from Oklahoma City -- except the building should be in teal and hot pink and yellow. With sparkles and flowers and neon fireworks -- in other words, appropriate to a space-age Googie farm.

And new cows to go with the new dairy:

    and new pigs too --

Suuuuuure, these new things don't really match stylistically, and they don't go together in a harmonious vision, but we are OBVIOUSLY not doing THAT anymore.

What are YOUR suggestions for what should be the next redesign away from something that looks like it actually might belong on a farm?

OMG Let's not forget the town

Here's my suggestion for the next new town building -- its sleek modern design will contrast sharply with the homey cute and visually descriptive nature of the existing town buildings, begging the existential question, "WHYYYYYYYY am I here???? What is my purpose?? Why am I putting THIS thing HERE????"
