ok, lets cool it guys. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, lets respect that.
Also, lets remember to be constructive about the criticism we give. The developers would hardly do something just to annoy you, how would that benefit anyone?

Then why did they do it, Tink? It is obviously an unpopular change. Can we expect more of the same in the next update?

I said this exact thing to a neighbor in chat today. Add me to the disappointed list.

Part of what folks love about HD is the high standards of the graphics and look of the elements. The machines (except the candy maker and hatmaker) look like they belong on a working farm that would have a 1930s delivery truck, a steam-powered riverboat, and a steam train.

So how does the new space-ages soup kitchen fit the RUSTIC FARM design of the rest of the machines (hat maker and candy maker aside)? That soup kitchen would be perfect inside the diner, but on a working farm, with antique ovens and rustic machines, it needs to fit into THAT environment. The old soup kitchen did.

I think the hatmaker needs a rustic makeover too -- it also looks like an indoor machine, not a thing that belongs outside on a working farm.

When my sister introduced me to the game I would spend ages zooming in close to her farm and would smile at the charm of the machines.

I agree that the soup kitchen, hat maker and candy machine, although cute in their own way (though not to my taste), do not fit the existing style.

I wouldn't assume that just because it seems unpopular on this forum does not mean it is not liked by the many many people who play the game.

If you're as old as I am you may remember a time when real life home appliances in pink, turquoise blue, sunshine yellow and avocado green were hugely popular. Washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators.
I bought my KitchenAide mixer in turquoise blue because I loved the retro look of it.

And if you have actually had to cook on a black wood stove for years as I have, a little colour is always a plus.

Anyway, there is no accounting for taste or esthetics. What some people like others do not.
Just because you don't happen to like the look of something it isn't fair to criticize the designers.

Ugly, same as the hat maker, the candle maker and the sewing machine. I have them hidden.
