What is the appropriate range for me. I am a TH9 with TH8 defenses and troops (newly upgraded - went on a break).
1) Right now C2-C1 isn't working for me. I am getting matched with TH10's and stromg TH9's
2) What army composition should I use. Barch isn't working for me at this level - maybe I am just bad at it or maybe I need to upgrade.
3) I tried using Queen Healer and was successful with it. But it is an expensive army comp.

If you're trying to to trophy push just continue with Barch or Healer stratergy if you want to farm stay in Siler 1 to Gold 2 and grind out raids to upgrade defences.
I have been a TH9 for a long time. After the update on the increase in some building hp, yes, it is indeed much more difficult to get 50% just using barch.
Try using GiBarch with a few wiz if possible. Send in 1-2 giants, barbs behind n lastly archers. If under heavy fire drop 1-2 wiz behind. Repeat this along the other sides of the base n you should do fine.
Helps if you have both heroes of coz (get Archer Queen if you have do so). A couple of heal might be useful as well for back up.
I usually farm with 8 wiz 8 giants and rest mixed with archers n barbs 😊
