Gowipe/gowiwipe isnt 3* in th8 only in 5% of attacks. Hogs ftw
So in other words you failed...
Getting around 80% is never a problem against th9s with GoWi based attacks. The problem is getting the last 3 defenses down if your wizards are spread out and your queen is dead. If you want to make reliable 3 stars against real th9s as a th9, you need either backend loons or hogs. My favourite are 10 loons if the ad is centered or in the middle ring, but this mean you have 50 troops less for the attack and still have to make it to the center and still do some tanking.
The idea of haste to get more speed with half the space sounds nice, but there are 3 big disadvantages:
a) On a typical GoLaLoon you only need 4 spells: 1 jump for 1 ad, 1 rage for each ad. If you need a jump and rage for the first ad, in most cases you are going in with 2 golems getting 2 ads and are still OK.
b) The radius of hast is smaller. It is only 1 tile, but this is a huge difference.
c) There is no damage increase. With all the hitpoint increases you need 2 loons per defense. With rage you need only 1 and they can continue.
Haste still has its uses on wide bases to cover the distance between defenses, but it should not be used instead of rage, only as an addition.
It always depends on the base. If you are dealing with a narrow base with many compartment, I agree. This needs to be hogged. If you are dealing with a wide open base design and pink walls, but many bomb spots, it is much easier with GoWiPe and a few loons on the backend for the last few defenses. If you have th10s in your clan that can donate you a max pekka, this is really strong.
The mistake many players are making is that they can only use 1 attack strategy and are doing mirror. You have to adapt your attack strategy to the base. At th8 it is either dragons, hogs or GoWiPe with small adaptions (use cc hogs/loons for dragon attacks), backend loons/hogs for GoWiPe or a golem for hogs to trip giant bombs.
If you can only do 1 attack style, you need a leader that keeps the balance in the clan and assigns each base to a player that is good at this style.
