I am fairly confident that upgrading Heroes will be available in wars in either the next update or the one after that.

    Why?

    1. Almost everyone who plays the game including Mods and Specialists hate not having them available.

    2. Supercell needs a happy user base to continue to grow.

    3. There is scant evidence that gemming Heroes to make them available for war is a significant money maker.

    4. It has not been ruled out.

    Why hasn't it happened?

    1. There were few complaints about not having Heroes in war when Clan Wars started. The opt out/in was one of the big issue. So it was not an original priority.

    2. The coding argument makes sense.

    3. Supercell wants to do it right to increase its customer base. .The opt in/opt out upgrade was much better than almost anyone asked for.

You really think no heroes in war, is because they can't figure out how to do it lol??!! Did you see the billion after those numbers?? A lot of that is from heroes. If I were president of softbank and someone suggested allowing heroes to be available in war, I'd fall over laughing after I fired the person. Billions of dollars, they didn't get that much by being naive and stupid.

    That's how they make money.
Make wars fun and irresistable and then make you wait for your heroes to upgrade. Don't want to wait, spend gems ...

Same reason why they make upgrades cost so much and why wait times get longer and longer. It's very simple code change to make upgrade costs 1 elixer and 1 second upgrade time but it won't happen ....

Supercell clearly want to make money and do it very well. The thing to remember is that some fremium games are virtually unplayable without spending real money. Fortunately CoC has got the balance right and players can choose whether they want to spend real money or not.

As others have said heroes in war are a significant income stream so i doubt it'll change. Farm hard, get them maxed and you don't need to worry about it!

This 2.1 billion was paid to aquire 51% of the company. It isn't revenue or something. The value of a company can be very high, but that doesn't mean they have hundreds of employees nor a big turnover. It can also mean the company has some big growers or special patents. That 2.1 billion didn't even go to SC, but to the investor / owner who sold 51% of the shares. Learn some economics.

So supercell was not invested in its own company....because that's how it works right...you own a company then sell shares of said company but you don't make anything. I have a few companies you can invest in then hahahaha

So, that 2.1 Billion DID go to Supercell, then... Do you even clash bro?

And BTW, IIRC, Ilka Paaninen is an economist, not a developer/artist. His specialty is making money...

Actually that 2,1 billion went to few people, who owned SC. There was 2 SC people (can't remember names) who were 2013 in top earnings in Finland. I mean top 2 in big margin to next ones

Edit. I. Paananen, M. Kodisoja were at top 2. Then many other SC staff at top 50.

Edit 2. Not at top in 2014, go figure...

I honestly do not see an issue... if you want to be in war with both Heroes either war around Hero upgrades or gem time.
