This...you'd think people would know by now that it's percentage of remaining hitpoints

While I haven't upgraded, you are wrong here.

While upgrading has no effect on the number of spells required to drop walls, it does have an effect on the amount of damage caused to other structures.

Whether that increase is worth teh DE cost of upgrading is questionable, but tere is a point in upgrading.

I for one am shocked people actually use it. 4 spell spaces to do what my max jump spell can do in 2 spell spaces.....pointless.
A lot of people think this. A lot of others would disagree.

For a start, EQ is available at TH8, jump not until TH9.
Secondly, EQ lasts for the whole battle, jump only for a limited time.
Thirdly, it appears from anecdotal evidence that troops are still aware of the wall under the jump spell, and if their AI causes them to avoid walls, they aren't much (if any) more likely to go that way than they would if the jump was not in effect.

    Yes.

Or, stated another way, troops are stupid, their AI is dumb, and they will sometimes just flat out ignore a jump spell, but that is not an issue with EQ and walls that are dead before the troops even hit the map

A lot of people still don't understand how the new spells work. It takes one minute to read the spell descriptions, considering they're in-game.
