    Timmy if you go 40 of your own hogs and put max wizards in the cc.. no, just don't. Unless you want to lose the attack when the dragon kills all your wizards at once because you can't drop them separately because you thought you're better off getting another 10 dps on your wizards (dropped on the same spot) than the benefits of mac hogs

    Yes, 40 hogs and wizards is the way to go, but the CC HAS to be hogs.

    My troop composition if there are no dangerous double bomb spots:

    8 wizards, 12 barbs, 1 archer, 1 giant, 30 hogs + 5 hogs in the cc plus 3 heal + poison

    a) giant for luring (can be replaced with a hog if you can lure with barbs of have to lure with hogs)
    b) Archer for setting at the anker point
    c) 4 barbs for getting the cc troops out
    d) 4 barbs + 3 wizards for taking out the cc (place 3 wizards in the back + distract with barbs). If no dragon is inside drop poison on it.
    e) 4 barbs for builders huts/reserve and 5 wizards for cleanup/reserve
    f) drop asian wall of hogs

    If you think the enemy does not have a dragon in the cc, use your poison and carry 4 minions instead of 2 wizards. They will take care of the rest save your wizards for cleanup.

    If you need to get deeper into the base to trip double bombs you have following options:
    .) Use 1 golem, 4 wall breakers and 2 wizards more, but no barbs.
    .) If not enough carry a max pekka in the cc
    .) If still not enough replace 1 heal with a rage (this should get you to the th and you should get the king as well. If not rethink your strategy)
    .) If still not enough, dont do hogs, think about other strategies first (dragon/GoWiPe/GoVaLo/GoWiPeLo).

    40 hogs are still possible if you take 5 in the cc, 35 own and kill the cc with 25 own troops and the poison, but I would not do it because if the hogs clump up, you will run out of time without cleanup wizards. Better use only 31 hogs + 5 in the cc and carry 4 cleanup wizards and 4 barbs and you have some extra in case something goes wrong when killing the cc.

    The hogs generally don't clump up, and the obvious solution to your concerns is to just to hold onto a couple hogs. You say 30 hogs and 6 wizards, I say 35 hogs, so you can still release 30 hogs like you said, and then deploy the last 5 hogs tactically. Unlike wizards they'll ignore walls so their effective dps is far higher, and if you need them to drop a cannon they will. If you need them to kill the king the king won't one shot them.

    If you want troops strictly for clean up, goblins>>>wizards. Think about which buildings the hogs don't kill.

    14-16 Hogs
    8-10 Wizard
    4-8 Wallbreakers
    Rest is whatever troops you want to lure/anchor CC with and some clean up.

    Don't kill the enemy CC straight away, just lure them out and get them locked on to one of your Golems. The Wizards behind should kill the CC (most likely a Dragon) and create a funnel. If they are weak troops, just use a Poison spell.

    I didn't use hogs a ton at TH8, but when I did go against a compact base I used 20-25 hogs, all heal spells, a few drags. Archers if I had extra spots left. Worked well on compact bases.

    No. Do not take the troop with terrible dps/space that gets vaporized by the seeking air mines and does almost nothing for hogs rather than more hogs and enough wizards for the cc.
