At the end, the best composition will fail at wrong layout, but also thats something you'll probably already know about.
Looks like you have to attack a given base to me, so hard to tell you a good strategy.

At TH8 almost any hog attack will be fine. Composition wise, you really need to justify that Golem.
Sometimes a Giant, some wiz, archers and CC (drag if you suspect drag in enemy CC) is all you really need to handle the enemy CC. Yielding you more space for...hogs!
Just pre plan the attack and heals, locate the high density defense areas and act accordingly on the fly.

I use 30 hogs, 8 wizards, 3 giants, 3 archers or barbs. (Small changes depending on layout.)
CC is 1 witch, 2 wiz, 1 giant.
Put in hogs over CC, after threat is gone.
Giants are in places to pull AT and cannon fire while hogs rush in.
2 wiz of the 8 will help with CC. Rest are for cleanup after hogs go in, spread out.
Level 4 hogs of course. Almost max TH8.
At th8, there is no queen to worry about so unless there is an easy to access double giant bomb spot you know contains a double giant bomb, your best comp is 6 wizards and an archer to kill the CC and everything else is hogs. Hogs are FAR better clean up troops than wizards and each additional hog you bring on the attack portion likely means you have two hogs to clean up, and failure to bring enough hogs means your run ends early. No matter which way you slice it, once you're through with the cc no troop complements hogs as well as another hog.

Well there are 4 hog comps in th8. It depends on the base.
1. Straight hogs
Around 30 hogs and filler wiz and barch etc to kill cc and cleanup. Cc wiz or hogs.
Good if u can pretrigger 1 or 2 giant bombs for cheap. Otherwise it is dangerous.
2. Hogo
Around 20 hogs with 1 golem some wiz and wb. Cc max pekka preferred.
Works if no easy pretrigger but u can lure and kill cc along with set off a bomb and kill the king ideally. Usually 1 rage to help king/cc kill and 2 heals. 3 heals is possible. Also helps get compete heal coverage for the remaining 3/4 of the base u didn't kill with ur wiz and king a cc pekka.
3. Gohowixx
Around 10 hogs. Replace pekkas with hogs in a gowipe with cc witches or max pekka.
Good on untriggerable double bomb or hard lure or on base that has easy backside defenses for hogs (no springtraps)
Proceed with normal gowi attack. You must make it to the core. Preferably with only 1 rage or heal spell. When army reaches core drop backside hogs with heals if needed to cleanup those defenses.
4. Holowixx
Mix of loons and hogs with some wiz for cleanup cc kill
Hard to find base for this but from what I understand you do this when you can use hogs on one side of the base and kill the ads but use backside loons to kill defenses protected by bombs.
