Is not upgrading my walls to lvl 8 gonna affect me at th9?

I'm moving to TH9 with only about 50 skull walls and I'm not maxing them at TH8.

Yes, it will affect you. Farming Skulls isn't that difficult so do it now or you'll probably never do them for a long time at TH9 because of all the new upgrades.
