My opinion regarding doing walls at the right time vs doing them at a higher th level.. You will have to do the walls sooner or later, meaning you will need to leave your builders to rest for some time at some point. Why not do it now when loot is easier to find, than later when you will struggle more for the same results?

If you reach th9, I assure you the next time you will start doing walls will be when you max out your th9 base, and by then you will struggle a lot with weak walls in wars, maybe in PvP too.

Why would anyone waste a few weeks at TH8 to finish up walls is beyond me.

And those 25 new walls, cheap new traps and planting the new AT, WT, Tesla, AD and both x-bows will go a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to not getting rolled by every half competent TH9 that wants to roll his maxed TH8 for whatever gold he has, 200K+ elixir and 1,800 DE. And spreading loot in 2 new storages means having to wipe more of the base to get all of the loot. But hey by all means stay there a few more weeks maybe I'll see you with a loonian army.

I'm a slave driver. I keep expecting the Moses icon to appear in my village one day saying "Set my people free."

Occasionally I'll let one rest when I have him on wall duty but even that can be rare at times.

Ok so you have stated your opinion. There are actually other reasons people play the game besides getting to th10 as fast as possible. Just because it's a waste to you does not mean it's a waste to him.

For example some people are completionists. For them they don't care how long it takes. They will keep going at their own pace and max in their own time.

Some people want to make sure they are solid war attackers before moving on. Getting 3 stars on max th8s with good layouts is no easy task. Spending a few weeks working on attacking is enjoyable to them and worth their time.

Some people are like you and have no patience. They max their defenses then go to th9. Completely ignoring their lab because as we all know th8 lab takes twice the time 5 builders does to max all buildings. Which actually gives you plenty of time to finish walls if you are at all active.

Some people have no life and farm upwards of 10 mil a day. These people actually benefit from going up to the next th lvl early because usually their walls are max and and their important troops are maxed so they're not suffering too much.

There are many ways to play. Do not hate on someone simply because how they want to play "is beyond you"

    As a side note.
if he has no use for elixir or de anymore it doesn't matter if he loses some on attacks so that point is moot.

    Guilty as charged!

Though not so guilty as to gem stuff impatience. I guess being cheap wins out over impatience.

Anyway I agree with your point about there being many way to play. If folks don't mind handing out DE and Elixir and are actually having fun grinding out wall then sure go for it. Personally I find it very inefficient but that's just me. I do understand some folks have a compulsion to be completionist. In fact I may be joining them at TH9, just not sure I can grind out full lavas and 30/30 heros but every other thing on my base, including all research will be done on my base before I hit the TH10 upgrade...unless TH11 comes out before I get there...

    Much better response .

Most people here tend to post a short response that belittles the op or is clearly wrong. (Not saying yours was like that)

It would be better of more people took the time to respond in a logical and thoughtful manner .

Highly recommend doing walls at th8, it will prepare you for the long wall grind at th9. Can't imagine upgrading to th9 knowing I have to upgrade every wall 3 times.

I say do all your def/lab(whatever is important) and do skulls as much as possible. I got to th9 with about 70-80 not done, and also got 25 new to do. Didn't took me long to catch up. The more you have on th9 the better, but with excessive elixir you can manage to pour gold in skulls and do legos in the meantime.
