Can someone explain to me why pekka is not upgradeable to lvl4 at th9?
I just can't understand it. Having the same lvl of pekka with a th8 i find it ridiculous, and thats what is reppeling me from using pekkas as a th9, but if they were lvl4 now, gowipe would be more favourite rather than gowiwi imo.

The reason is because pekka 5 used to not exist. Since pekka 4 was the cap they gave it to just TH10's. Later they added pekka 5 but never moved when pekka 4 was available. This is the way they normally do things. Moving an upgrade to a lower town hall level (like they did when they made dragons 4 available at TH9) is not the normal way they work.Originally Posted by evilbr

It's a lot like the endless complaints about not being able to use heroes during war. Sure it is unfortunate for you while you are upgrading your heroes, but once you are capped for your town hall level you get to use unlimited maxed heroes while your opponents frequently don't have them (or have them at low levels because they refused to upgrade them since they didn't want to be without them for war). In the long run you are better off with the current system. It is only in the short run (while you are still gowiping at TH9 or upgrading your heroes) that you are worse off.
There is not need for pekkas at th9 at all. At th8 it is a valid 3 star strategy on wide base layouts (where you have more troubles with hogs) and on base with low level walls. At th10 they are a good 2 star strategy to beat infernos on multi, if you can get them to the core. 5 golem also works on most bases, but on some it is really hard to get all 5 to the center. Pekkas on th9 are not good for anything and this will not change with lvl4. They can be used to get 3 stars on non rushed bases if the base layout is not extremely bad and for 2 stars you dont need them, because without infernos on multi you can easily bring your wizards to the core.
I also love the idea that pekkas and valks coexist. At th8 and th10 pekkas are stronger on most cases, but on th9 valks are stronger.

Agreed, and Supercell really needs to figure out their balance issues. Would it be that hard to put PEKKA level 4 at TH9 and have that balanced as part of a legit three star strategy as viable as GOWIWI/golaloon/GOWIVA/GOHO and then give us valks level 5 at TH10 so that valks have a place at TH10? I don't know why so many people justify just a bad balance job by supercell with ♥♥♥♥ like "Well you'll get pekka level 5 at TH10" (and valks are now irrelevant) or "it makes defense easier as well" (At TH7, anyone can also mass dragon anyone.. that's not a reason to keep TH7 as skillless as it is, this argument means they need to do something to balance it).
This. I just maxed my valks and they are insane at TH9. GoValo, or using a few to kill an AQ rather than wizzies, so awesome. I've even been consistently 2 staring TH10s (even with lvl 3 infernos) with them when ours fail their attacks.
Valks are underappreciated.
