What's with all the trees

Why aren't ppl clearing their trees and Ben boxes? I'm fairly new to the game but thought that you got gems by clearing your base

I personally keep some bushes if they spawn in the right area of my basE because it makes it look larger. I also personally feel that it plays 'mind tricks' on your opponents to make them not want to drop their troops there.

also, I keep Christmas trees and Halloween stuff, just for decoration. I still have Xmas trees from 3 years ago

I am a fan of the pine trees around the perimeter of my base, but cut down anything that grows in the main base area. Re the gem boxes... it is harder to be tempted to spend the gems when they are locked up tight in the gem chest.

Some players are inactive and cant remove them, others just find them pretty.

The max number of obstacles you can have is 40. I currently have 36 trees and bushes around the edge of my village and they still keep growing.

If you know any COC hoarders in real life, stage an intervention. Take their device when they're not looking and remove those pesky obstacles.

I read somewhere that if you keep things clean-shaven, it makes the other stuff look bigger

Seriously though, some players have no idea that trimming the trees gives them gems.

There is also the problem that gems are useless. I have 5523 gems saved up after buying all my builders (I never purchased any gems). With no permanent improvements to spend gems on they just don't have any value to me. I don't boost and there is little else to spend gems on.
