5th Builder VS Boosting Sessions

I am a TH8 with currently 71 gems. It costs 50 gems to boost all 4 Barracks + BK so I can raid every 5 mins.
But what would be better? Me save up 2000 gems for the 5th builder, or spend them on boosts (Which I've been doing)?
BTW: I have 4 builders, 3 of which always work and one spare to dump Gold into walls. I would like to have 4 builders work with one spare for walls. But is it smart to keep a spare builder?

Alright, I think I'll save for the 5th builder. And I can easily get enough resources.

No doubt about it, 5th builder is much better in the long run. You can max your base about 20% faster. What can 2k gem worth of boost get you? About 80 hrs (3.33 days) worth of boosting if you use 50 per boost. If you plan to play more than 400hrs (16.66 days) The 5th builder is worth more.

What's so great about maxing your base 20% faster? So you can max defences before troops and heroes and then come on here moaning that lab times are unbalanced etc?

I'd boost the barracks and get de for heroes mainly, whilst doing this you will aquire enough resources for defences+ walls anyway.

Troops + heroes > defences.

I can upgrade my heroes nonstop without boosting. 5th builder FTW!

If you're doing quad boosting, where on earth will all your resources go with only 4 builders?

When you're th9, that would be 1 open for walls, at least one permanently on heroes....that leaves 1-2 builders for defs, camps, collectors.....

In short....builder. But I find playing without any boosts painfully dull too. Find yourself an achievement that will give a boosting surplus, or dig out the card.

Yeah I'd rather have a few boosting sessions than a 5th builder. Just depends how you wanna play really, neither is right or wrong.
