Giwipe (giants, wizards, peckas) or mass dragons are pretty effective ways to get DE slow train times though.
Gibarch has never been my favorite but it is alot faster to train than the two I suggested.

WiPe was my favourite DE storage raiding army when I was TH8.

Gibarch served me well throughout th8 for pretty much all of my storage raiding. I put in a couple wizards for a bit of firepower and a couple hogs to either get the cc lure or to sneak in on distracted defenses, also took a rage to power through and a heal to help me against stronger th8s. Though really, if you can find a base that surrounds the de storage with splash damage and somehow get the king in there, you're good. DE gets better the higher you go, you just have to be willing to deal with stronger/trickier bases and more tryhards attacking you. Overnight I usually trained a pekkarch (again supplemented with wizards and hogs) and queued one right behind it. That's just what worked for me though.
Also, try heading up to crystal upwards, am making DE faster than I can spend it getting 100+ bonus for every 50% or TH really adds up fast.
