If you have the time, Lvl 8 Walls are easy to build. Almost done.

I say this all the time. If you leave walls for last, you will get bored with this game. If you would have done a few along the way you would be in better shape instead of staring at a monster task of farming 112.5Mil in gold just for walls with nothing else to do.
My suggestion is, If everything is maxed out (including spells, troops, DE troops etc) Do as many walls as you can stand and upgrade to TH9. When you get to 9, go the 8.5 route and update all of your offensive troops and dump all your gold into walls. Don't buy any new stuff until your walls are done to all skulls then start adding new defenses. You will basically be an over glorified TH8 with an archer queen, 220 army camp spaces, and a great offense I would upgrade your Clan castle as well for the extra 5 spaces. Don't worry about elixir as TH9 is so elixir heavy in the beginning.

It depends on how much you play the game. I play more than 2 hours so for me it was easy to do the skull walls. However, I started them as soon as I went to TH8. I didn't wait.
I have read some comments on they are easier at TH9 to do. They actually are easier. Some have disagreed with this but you get 20 more troops, AQ, and 5 more in CC. So they are easier. You can crush TH8 bases once you get Lvl 6 Giants. However, do not wait until last to do walls. I don't understand why people do this. We have several in our clan that has done this. It has to be boring to farm just for walls.

How many lvl7 walls did you have done before moving to TH8??
As 200k a piece equates to loosing 1 lvl8 wall per 2.5 lvl7 walls..
Should have held back a bit more on TH7 unless everything else was maxed and lab was idle..
I don't keep track of how many walls I do per day but am mid TH8
2X Cannons to go till maxed
3x Tesla,S each 1 lvl to go
All Archer towers 1 lvl to go
And 4 mines 4 collectors to go(2 lvls till maxed, wish I had worked them b4 as loosing resources daily on them)
Air Sweeper 1 lvl to go
And my walls are 2/3rds lvl8
BK maxed(wish I,d done DE Troops b4 king) but he's done now
And Pekka 1 lvl( going in next),Valks 1 lvl,golems maxing now,rage 1lvl, EQ and Poison 1 lvl(rest of troops maxed)
So yes its easy but that's if you play 6 plus hours per day AND boosting barracks is an asset on its own( I buy GEMS when needed) , but you can get enough every 10 days( roughly) to have at least 3 boosts a month if you can't buy GEMS.
But even the smallest package will last you about 15 days at 1 boost per day(just barracks not hero's or spell factory)
I play about 4-5 hours throughout the day an boost session once a day..
So to finish off yes you are struggling with farming gold or have not set a plan on what order you are going to upgrade things..

I did 75% of my level 8 walls at TH8. What a waste of time. I sat on 6 million elixir for 2-3 months, having nothing to upgrade it on. If I'd have just gone to TH9 and done the stupid TH8.5 route for a week or so, I'd be able to spend my elixir on getting level 9 walls while finishing off all the level 8 walls. But no, I waited and tried to max TH8 as much as possible.
