That's my best guess. Here's why. They update the game in some way about every 6 weeks. We had the last real update in game content / function way back in early July. An update of some kind is due about now. All that being said, there's the Clash Con in Finland at Supercell. That event occurs in mid-October, which is a perfect time to roll out a more major update or Halloween special update.
Again, just a guess on my part though.

Nobody knows when or how big the next update will be.
There's always an update during Halloween but it could be as small as theme changes. I reckon there will be an update before then since Halloween is another 2 months odd away.
i think Supercell will have an event in Halloween as last year
About update often every 6 weeks.
