Great read. While I may have my own personal method of raiding de (BAW or mass drags) i love reading other people's tested strategies. While i do consider myself a more casual player than most (I dont max my gold everyday and just raid for what i need) i appreciate the tips here. Because of this thread, I maxed my BK before upgrading to th9 so for that, thanks! Best of luck on the road to superheroes for the rest of you!
Thanks to UnitySharp for this Guide once i am TH9 i will focus mainly. However i don't use Wizards and Healer and DE Farming is working fine for me.

I think I will take out 5 barbs, 5 gobs, 4 arch, and 3 minions and use this once i am TH8 ( tantalizingly close :])
For those of you who are TH8, and would like to see a TH8 adaption to UnitySharp's guide, I made a video of about 5 of my attacks. I think it should be helpful. Also, many thanks to UnitySharp, I'm having so much fun farming DE.
I just got the 40k DE required to upgrade my BK to level 10 (I'm TH8). Up to about 24k, I wasn't really saving up, just raiding around 2000 cups. From 24-36k (less about 1.5k stolen when I logged off and got raided), I continued my usual strategies but just looked harder for big DE raids - I was hoping to get there last night but it was too hard. This morning, I got from 34k-40k in a few quick raids, just by looking hard in Gold 1 for really easy farming raids, i.e. full drills, and/or DE stores really close to the edge of the base. I was amazed just how many of these raids I found - a few goblins, archers, wall breakers and giants (to distract xbows etc), and I easily got hundreds if not thousands per raid, lost 20-30 trophies, then quickly moved on to the next raid as brew time required was minimal.
So I'd definitely recommend to take your trophies up to at least 1900, then farm your way to big, easy DE loot... I found lots of it, whose owners obviously had other priorities...
As an added bonus, I think I will have annoyed a lot of people I raided (most were semi-active, some had even gem-boosted their drills), but I have nothing left for them to take back, not even trophies, as I'll be taking it easy for at least 4 days while all my long-running upgrades tick over...
Great vids - could you explain how you use minions? - I'm really struggling to use them and just have given up and replaced them with archers and barbs. You seem to use them quite early on?Originally Posted by sfergusond
Well, if you use them like quite few of us following Sharp's ways do, you use them to soak up damage for your healers so they don't die too quick. That's why he puts the minions in after the giants, but before the healers. Hope I answered your question!

Is it just me? Since i started DE Farming i have noticed that i get 10x more revenges as a gold farmer.
I use 2-3 right after giants to test for air bombs, and then deploy about half of them if the air defense is near the deployment zone. That way, the air dense locks onto the minions instead of my healers. The rest of them at the end are for dealing with CC troops and to add some extra DPS to clear buildings in order to make a path for the wizards. I also use them to clear outer buildings protected by cannons as well.
