Can't really blame him on the army composition haha.
Its not like he created a new army composition recently just to DE raid.
Was searching through his channel, and seems like he has been using similar army composition since his th8 days already.
Anyway, whether the army compo is a great choice or not, is up to individual's choice.
I personally still do not like it, but atleast it helped many forumites here get more de/hour.
Haha, true true. I always loved healers, but I used to love archers and never used goblins & barbsNow that has changed. I also stopped using healers in Crystal 2->Master 3 when I was using golems.

BK just finished upgrading to lv 16, after 1 battle I started his lv 17 upgrade immediately. 75k DE spent.
Queen has 3.5 days left to upgrade to lv 15.
74k DE remaining in the tank.
Here is a video showing the battle I had using the lv 16 BK. Though there was not much DE, the gold & elixir loot was very high and I didn't need to use rage or wizards in my camp (so I could raid faster the next round):

Can you explain a bit more on this?
Is it because of the build time and that you prefer to battle more frequently? Do you not specifically go after DE? Or if you do, are you able to farm DE quicker / more productively?
DE is a rare commodity. You won't be seeing TH7-8 farmers with it. Some TH9 farmers don't have a lot of it unless they have maxed drills or something. It's something you won't be seeing a lot of unless you jump ship at 1700 trophies and above. The ones with the most DE are maxed out bases with a core containing their DE storage.
I'm glad Unity finally shared the importance of DE farming and what strategies could be used to farm it. DE farming is great because upgrading heroes keep builders busy and adds 2-3 months more worth of upgrades for your builders so you have more time to save up other resources to max out your base. That's one way I looked at it.

Farming TH9 till I get both level 30 heroes and all lava core. TH10 SUCKS!!!
Do your part in improving the loot: Tell all new users and Android users to max collectors first so we can farm them.

There are plenty of bases where you can reach their DE with just farming armies(barb/arch/gob/giant/wb).
Just be patient with that "next" button, and you can find bases with great de loot without having the need for that semi-trophy hunting army.
And the training speed is much faster as well.
And as hannibal pointed out, the main dps for his combo came from wiz(long training time), some minions, and the "mandatory(2 out of 3 raids)" rage.
Compare these 2 combo.
Top is his.
Bottom is a typical farmer's combo
You can see the diff in dps, hp, training time yourself.
Anyway, don't misunderstand me that i'm hating. Merely pointing out that its not a must to use that army combo. And as a farmer, an army that requires 52 mins to build is pretty..
But as unity said before, its his life style/job, which makes an army that requires 52 mins to build alright.
If you need, toss in a rage with that farming army if you found a base with high de. Similar effect can be achieved.
And if the base is really out of your league, just press next. Its not that hard to find another base with high de.
Yup, I'm pretty sure a huge majority of us agree with the importance of prioritising DE so as to extend your TH9 journey, to be able to max out on walls, as well as high level heroes.

Nooooo, mine only takes 35.5 minutes, I build 4 wizards only. Rest of the wizards are from my CCI am in a dragon/wizard clan, where people donate wizards and dragons only when they are not clashing (usually after they wake up or return from doing other things).

Yes, I convinced my clanmates to adopt an unique donation system in order to improve everyone's DE farming results, after I realized how much it helps.
I have an alt that feeds me lv 5 wizards and lv 3 healers all day long, so I didn't really need it myself though
So if you are not in a clan that can support you with premium troops all day long, then you can grow an alt to TH8 with lv 5 wizards and lv 3 healers, and you will be set. 1 healer + 4 wizards would fill up 30 spaces perfectly

2500 de per hour is way too low, if you are farming solely DE. But do you expect more with that army composition?
Attack more frequently, use quicker armys and farm the drills!
5k - 7k De per hour, when i was at townhall 9 (without excessively dropping trophies).
None gold mine and elixir collector were harmed in the making of this post.Heh!
