Thread: why upgrade mines and collector if you are a good farmer ?

    I can't believe we're still talking about this. Since the level 12 mines update, my gold mines have made 15 million more gold than they would have made if I hadn't upgraded them from 11.

    What I suggest you do is ignore petty concepts like math and do what you've intended to do all along.
    If you need to ask "Should I upgrade my Townhall?", the answer is no.

    Ok, how about for clan war wins, then? Ever cause an opponent to get a 2 star win instead of a 3 star win because they ran out of time?

    Level 5 collectors -> 560 hp each
    Level 12 collectors -> 960 hp each

    12 mines/collectors x 400hp = 4800 hp

    That's an extra 4800 hp the enemy has to chew through before they 3 star you.

    I consider myself a good farmer (3-5mil per day) and maxed collectors way earlier than defenses. I maxed my legos + lavas in around 6 months. I have maxed collectors since Jan 2015 (let's take 8 months ago)

    Let's make a comparison, most players leave their collectors at lvl 10, where they feel the return is too little:
    Lvl 10 = 2.5 * 24 * 6 * 30 * 8 = 86mil gold and elixir

    Lvl 12 = 3.5 * 24 * 6 * 30 * 8 = 121mil gold and elixir

    So just by the profit difference, I have gotten 35mil more gold and lix, which totals to 23 lavas more than the player with lvl 10 collectors. You can argue that you raid more, but if we raid the exact same frequency and speed, I will always farm faster than the player with lower level collectors.

    If you're argument is that my defenses would be lagging, you're wrong too. The player with lvl 10 collectors is losing 160k gold and elixir every day. But would his better defenses deter an attacker? Not as likely. Defenses take a long time to build as well, and when the player with lvl 10 collectors reaches a reasonable level of defense, the total loot loss would likely be greater than the player who maxed collectors first.

    This argument applies to TH9 above where the "unlimited" loot sink of legos and lavas appear, TH8 and below should just rush to TH9 and max offenses then collectors

    Like Ouail said, it's worth it for the hit points if not for the loot. Increased hp means there's an additional 14 buildings that take longer for your opponent to destroy, therefore giving your defenses more time to kill raiding troops.

    Time for MATHS!

    1x A Level 1 Collector/Mine = 4,800 loot per day.
    7x Level 12 Collectors/Mines = 588,000 loot per day.

    Not I'm not a rocket scientist however I'm happy to grab almost 600k in loot that I don't have to do anything to earn.

    Time to go deeper!

    Lets say your raids net you 250k Elixir but cost you 150k, you make a profit for 100k elixir, this means that maxed collectors would be the equivalent of almost 6 extra raids a day.

    Little deeper still...

    Lets say you've had your collectors maxed for six month... That's.... 107,310,000 In both Gold and Elixir as time goes on you are losing out on a lot of free loot.

    And bang, that is why ladies and gents you should max your collectors/mines.

    Because eventually you will run out of things for your builders to do.

    And why not have a nice 504K gold and like them elixir everyday as a TH 9 and 8
    and a nice 588K as a TH 10

    Combined loot from gold and elixir colectors are 1 million per day.

    Sin, There is good points to leave mines and collectors at lower levels until th9.
    I planned all my clash strategy to reach 30/30 heroes and full lava in th9 before defenses with 5 builders working all time.
    I consider it a unique achievement because i never see a th9 with 30/30 heroes before max defense.
    To achieve that you should buy time by leaving any building you can in lower TH.
    So I left all mines and collectors in lvl6,7 until th9 and just upgrade them in th9.

    At the end of TH9 i have 250 lvl10 walls and 30/30 heroes so what is the difference if I had lvl1 mines/collectors or lvl12 mines/collectors from Th1 to TH9?

    do you understand me Sin? In other words I have to wait for 30/30 heroes so i can do walls between upgrades.
    All 5 builders are working all time so I see no point to reach full lava at the soonest time.

    If you leave one builder for walls a maxer can criticize you because you can upgrade more defenses if all 5 builders working all time.

    say u go on vacation, and u cant clash for say, 4 days. If u have like lvl 5 mines, they will fill up quickly and u would have to come on and collect them. With lvl 12 collectors, they wont really fill up.
