Why do my heroes refuse to follow my golems OR go in toward TH when it's wide open?!?

FYI, I'm a solid th10 with Max troops. My heroes are both lvl20 (unfortunately, that doesn't make them any smarter than a lvl1). I am not a horrible attacker, I promise. Whether it be a Mass Golem/wiz attack (usually, 6 golems, 18 wiz, 9 busters, etc) with 2 or 3 max rage and 2 or 3 max freeze, OR a GoWiWi attack with 1 rage and 4 freeze, it is almost impossible these days to get to the TH on a th10 base. Part of the problem is that my heroes spread wide almost everytime notwithstanding that I ALWAYS clear all the buildings along the whole side that I am entering with my wiz and drop my heroes right down the middle. It is inevitable that they will find some way to find a building out in no man's land to lock onto. Sometimes, I drop the heroes at the same time once the buildings have been cleared to either side. Sometimes, I won't even drop my Q until i have busted the walls all the way to the center and the golems are already in there on the infernos. Regardless, the heroes consistently spread wide locking on non attacking structures (spell factories, builder huts, loot collectors, etc.) and even disregard the other heroes wearing them out or the defense mowing them down. Why will, they not either go IN IN IN toward the TH or at least follow the golems?????!?!?!?! Any help is appreciated.

Hi mate, yes I understand this
I have being hitting a rough patch of foem even with max heroes....a couple of 1 stars
They key is about funneling, and using more jumps , I usually have 2-3 jumps, with that many golems u only need 1 freze maybe for a single, otherwise they will tank for you
get the golems wide on 2 entries then make 3rd entry in middle for more golems and heroes with wiz cleaning buildings first, u gotta make it so easy for the heroes that they have no choice

I'd say it is because SC wants to make the game more challenging and what is more challenging than dealing with dumb troops that will, more often than not, do the thing that will help the defenses the most?

I feel you mate, it's not only you. Sometimes they would even ignore a jump spell and walk a long distance to target an outside building. I think it's because of SC over correcting the AQ & walls issue. I'm sure in the upcoming updates they should settle it down by finding just the right mix of when to go for a wall and when outside.

spread out the golems and wizards more. Ensure all the outside buildings are destroyed so the only path left for your heros is up the middle

yeah do this, there are probably trash buildings on the outside that are closer than the buildings inside so heroes go for those while golems go for the defenses

Thanks guys. I will give the jump option another try. I used to roll with at least one or two jumps, but it seemed like the troops avoided them more often than not. It's just frustrating!
Are you guys saying that if both max infernos are set on multi, there's no point in a freeze spell and that I am better off with jump and rage spells? Only time I need to worry about a freeze spell (assuming I'm going golem/wiz attack) is if one inferno set on multi?

I like this thread, proves that GoWiPe isn't an easy, cheap out 2 star army like some claim it to be.

Jeeei was a master of GoWiPe but for the last month or so got busy messing around with other crazy combos and lost the GoWiPe mojo.

It's something that takes practice, sometimes you only need to make the smallest of tweaks to turn those 0-1 star attacks into 2.

I use a 7 Golem Strat also with 16 wiz...1 arch..(that includes CC) but if your Level 20's are having trouble taking down TH...I believe it's harder now a days as hitpoints were added from last update...
Why did they do that? Well that's where the Quake comes in...after I started using 4 quake near Infernos, Th and surround walls...that solves everything...4 level 1 quakes will take down any level Wall...but 4 MAX quakes take out 40% of everything it touches...That's a Big Deal...especially if you are using low 20 heros...
i use 1 jump on outer wall to "funnel" golems in and rage them all as they get near TH...I also throw in a Freeze for good measure to help the golems along...
..as far as the wiz go...deploy sparingly.. Leave a couple in your back pocket to help you get that 50% if you are having trouble...
    then your heros..
This tactic even works well on "Moat" bases too-that tend to drive your golems around the core...but as long as you place the rage right on top of them as they get near that "quaked" area ...they pile in anyway - lol
Multiple jumps work allright too...I've been seeing guys use 3 up here in champ 1 and Titan...
4 freeze is not as necessary as it may seem...as golems soak up and make the xbows and infernos useless anyways...
    good luck and Clash on!!!

It's hard to gauge what the problem is without seeing a screenshot of what kind of funneling you are doing.

The biggest mistake I see some of my clanmates make with funneling, and it is something I use to struggle with too, is that people clear too many buildings. You need to kind of make a breadcrumb trail leading to the core, or whatever objective you want. If you clear out every building from the drop point to the town hall before dropping your heroes, then the target with the least resistance very well may be on the outside of the base to the side, especially if there are still walls up to get to the town hall.

Now, this may not be the issue you are having. If not, then ignore. I'm just saying this is the solution to the biggest mistake I happen to see.
