I'm currently a near max th9 (defenses) and can't decide if I should upgrade minions from level 3 to 5 or get valkyries from level 1 to 4 first. Currently I use minions in my ballonian raids but also plan to include Valkyries (once upgraded) in GoWi attacks.

Well, I prefer valks because I use them when farming and sometimes in war. It really depends on you, though. It sounds like you don't use valks at all right now, but will once you get them upgraded. Why not start upgrading valks and using them? Valks take a lot of practice to know how to funnel them into a base, what bases work best for valks, etc. etc.Originally Posted by sjk123

Minions, no question. You will use Valks once, once.... A few people I know were all jazzed about getting maxed Valks, then they used them and said ummm, they suck lol. On top of that, they are way to much DE for regular raiding, unless you don't need de anymore, which is very few people.
Valks just take too many special situations to shine and even then I feel that anything you can do with a valk, you can do with other troops cheaper and faster.

Definitely minions. They are good for balloon/minion raids. Valks have much more limited uses.
Do minions for farming.
One other thing to note upgrading valks would give me maxed GoWiVA for th9

Lol @ the responses to this thread. If you only use valks once, that's because you didn't give them enough time to figure them out, and if you say they suck it's because you didn't figure out how to do them. Valks are great, especially at TH9. Minions, on the other hand, sure, you use them for loonion attacks. But more importantly, you generally use them for clean up on loonion attacks. Who cares if they can survive another hit from an archer tower the loons already destroyed? I farm with loonion, and upgrade minions last because the biggest effect I see out of upgrading them is my loonions cost more to make.
As for valks having "limited uses", their only use is in war attacks. If you want to win wars, go valks. If you want more inefficient farming, go minions.
Valkries are a core component of my power farming raid, which I rake DE. I been robbing th9s since early 8.
With that said you definitely have to know how to funnel well, and have a strong foundation of breaching to use them well. They all dies really fast when things go right, as they are absolute frontline attack. They act as the first layer of your tank team.
When things go bad though, like a bad split, they pick up the slack as off tanks well because they move really fast.
With that said, if you don't commit to figuring them out, then you'd be better off with minions, which are also an amazing trop especially of you are using them for late clean up and sniping...

Minions for loonion. Valks are only good in GoWiVa, which is only used in war and (slash)(backslash)alhalla.
