When does TH 9 get fun?

TH 7 was a blast TH 8 was fun too. Maxed every level. Got to TH 9 got my queen up fast, barely get raided (only got 3 starred like 3 times, very minimal loot loss).

However, TH 9 is expensive, takes forever, and it's a lot of mindless barching because the loot return doesn't justify the cost of power builds, which did exclusively at 7 and 8, and still made a good profit.

It's fun when I have both my heroes up, which is rare.

When does TH 9 get fun?

Or, should I put my collectors outside and play candy crush?

Give up on barching and move onto more enjoyable (and yes, slower) builds like loonion, AQ/Healer, GiWiz, GiValk. You'll get just as many resources as you did before, but in far less gametime overall.

TH9 was the most fun I had in the game and I always tell clashers to stay there as long as possible. Every troop variety is wide open to you even in war attacks where you rarely need to take on Discos and maxed Xbows etc. Get creative. Try air, ground, valks the lot.
The world is your clam, or crab or similar shellfish...so experiment and enjoy..TH10 awaits..

Th9 gets fun when you can effortlessly plow through th8s with gibarch

Th9 is the time to play with all kinds of weird compositions, including the kitchen sink. If you can't have fun 3 starring a rushed base with the kitchen sink, I can't help you. Nevermind loot, just go wild.

It gets fun when your offense is good enough so you can 3 star other th9s at war.

I exclusively ran slow builds in the early levels. They just aren't practical for keeping up with elixir upgrades.

Sure I can consistently hit 200 to 300, maybe the freak 400 to 500, resource bases but I'm only netting like 100 - 200 elixir an hour, with power builds. Barching, on the otherhand nets somewhere between 400 to 1000 elixir farming dead collector bases.

Sure, power builds are unrivaled for gold and dark elixir farming, but man, farming elixir at TH 9 is grueling...

Valks are a main component to my power build. I recently added hounds to the mix, and I love witches.

It's probably just mind numbing because I'm gimpy and elixir starved, so I gotta bank on barching to keep up.

However, I plan on maxing. Quite frankly I don't see how people have fun rushing. I feel gimpy at the early TH 9 stage and I'm a full maxer, I'm in a good war clan, and I have decent ground n pound fundamentals.

I'm planning on mastering loon farming to get a solid loon foundation, as soon as then pop.

I'm having fun at th9 by placing offense over defense. Nonstop wars are fun. I'm in master leagues and I barely farm, loonion boost when I have time or 2-3 attacks when I'm bored. War is the fun at th9 for me. Hogs are life And it's also good because you aren't worried that your builder will be free so you gotta farm 2M gold more this evening but the loot is bad so you go sleeping at 3am (my th8 gameplay history ) while I keep some elixir and DE so I can have something in lab nonstop. Hope my experience helps

As a relatively fresh TH9 myself, the game has taken on completely new dimensions. The fun aspect I suppose will hinge on the type of character you are and how willing you're prepared to embrace the super enhanced seriousness of it all.

Raiding - Barch has left the building sadly, for me at least. Farming now requires thought, skill and the patience to adapt.

War - More patience. Your long serving TH8 strategies don't pull their weight up here and adjusting my expectations during these early weeks has been tough.

Upgrades - The pinnacle of patience. From cost to upgrade time...the weighty perks of TH9 are slow to blossom.

For what it's worth, I'm enjoying the whole affair. For the first time in my Clash life I feel like a fully fledged grown up.
