Why are people talking about multiplayer air raids? Who cares? I'm pretty sure that's not what the OP is talking about. People stick their TH out, make bases to primarily protect loot and mostly couldn't care less how many stars go against their base as long as their loot is mostly safe. And no, higher leagues where people loonian for 1 star don't count either, give me a break.
I just 2 starred a TH9 as a TH8 with barch in multiplayer, that doesn't mean it's an overpowered war strat.
Anyway to the OP's question, to me it feels like the airsweepers were pretty much targetting skilled war clans that were having a lot of success with lavaloons. Reason i say this is that they released the first AS, pretty much universally hated. Then they go, oh hey here's another!! Really seemed like it was solving an issue most of the clash world wasn't even aware of. In my war experience(and i suspect many others) lavaloon raids were a 3 star strat but risky as you gave up a sure 2 star with goxxxx for a possible 1-0 star if you goofed. I will freely admit i'm only 1 person, so i can't speak for the whole clash world but from what i saw the vast majority of clans were not seeing non-stop lavaloon 3 stars by max TH10's. What i've seen the result of the 2 hair dryers is EVEN more goxxxx 2 star TH10 wars. We really didn't need any more of that. Not a fan
