Mods in Helsinki!

Not quite a simple as that. If we thought they could be a mod for an hour, they would be a perm mod. The first and most important issue is of course the non disclosure agreement that must be signed, as well as the age limit of 18+. There are also many other factors (training, support, information).

Question is.. Why aren't the mods at home? :eek:

ClashCon is in October.

Plugins are a tricky topic. And because as soon as a new version of vBulletin comes out, it gets updated here. Meaning all plugins installed are useless until they are updated. Often the plugin devs do not update, or take a while to get around to it.

We could have 100 more mods, but it wouldn't change the fact we would still all be in Helsinki, and we would still all be in the same time zone.
I wish it was that simple, but as I mentioned earlier, there is no differing between creating new threads and commenting on threads. Make it so fresh spawns cant make threads > means fresh spawns cant post.
And if we make it too hard for them to post, they then post the spam inside threads. Which is even more difficult to moderate.

With all the above said, we have also had some great discussions over the past few days, and are looking at solutions to stop spam and ways to improve the forums.

TheGreatLach, I have a question for you. Is there a specific reason that moderators have to be over 18 years of age, there are many people under 18 who could be good mods as well.
and what is a non-disclosure agreements?


and in regards to your other post on some forums software it is possible to restrict a specific usergroup from making threads yet still allowing them to make posts, it all has to do with the Admin control panel.

Huge Supercell fan! The mods though need to get on the same page. There is too much inconsistency in the way of forum moderation. For instance, threads open about how much a player plays and spends, only to get riddled with statements like "this guy has no life!" or "what a loser!" Hours these threads will remain open, filling with personal attacks.

Then you have a thread like this one..."all the mods are in one time zone, so the spam will get really crazy!" Thanks for the heads up! I'm sure the spambots will be out in full force, as you sleep in Helsinki. Now every ClashCon held everyone will know the mods are in one time zone. That's just silly!

So whilst in Helsinki the mods won't have thought about doing a rota shift to have 1 active at all times..
