Virtual Bullies (To clarify I am talking about TH9s relentlessly picking on TH8s)

My TH8 defense log goes back 20d 3h 4m.

All snipes except for 3 full on pummelings by TH9s, been hangin out in G1.
A few more attempts at rolling me, but CC troops saved the day.
Not too bad IMO.

What layout do you use?

Don't worry, I smash th9s for you. Same as you as a th8 smash 7s and 7s smash 6s. Do you get it yet?

Doesn't matter how you plan your builders. At TH7 & TH8, any highly active player will be on max elixir most of the time.

lol....was never at max elixir at TH8 until I maxed everything out.

You know, I keep hearing people say that there is all this excess elixir at TH8 - there are 4 barracks to upgrade, valks and golems to unlock, every troop to upgrade, spells to upgrade, gold storage to upgrade, and 2nd dark drill to build and upgrade. Basically there are only 2 things that don't get upgraded at TH8 (camps and spell factory).

TH8 elixir costs are just over 67 million!

I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm pretty active, and I've done it on 4 accounts and have never been at max elixir until the very end.

I feel sorry for you. But most likely when you get to town hall 9, you will be doing the same thing. It's the food chain.

Okay. I'm th8.5. What trophy range do u think I'll get raided n not sniped the most? Really wanna try out my base designs.

Btw, yeah as a starting th8 you can do nothing about getting smashed to the ground. Plus wait till th9 with their AQ get all your DE. I had to wait 2 weeks to store 35k DE. But ill agree I was hanging out at Crystal 3 with my th8 inside my base when that happened

I am currently TH8, and a problem I have been suffering from is the fact that TH9s relentlessly attack me when I’m offline minding my own business, 3-star my base, and leave afterwards, taking several trophies and some of my hard-earned money with them.

Given the fact that this has been a part of the game so long, I have faith in Supercell that this is a balanced part of gameplay, or else they would have done something about it. That being said, there should be some way to stop these bullies from stealing my lunch money – or do I just grit my teeth and bear it?

And that leads me to a roadblock, which is: how do I deal with them? Revenging seems infeasible; lots of them have good base layouts that would be difficult, if not impossible, for me to reclaim my stolen money. And even if I could do the job, they're shielded most of the time – they’re farmers like me, rocking outside Town Halls. Don’t forget the fact that revenging one TH9 will not stop others from pillaging my village.
I am a fairly new TH8, so I am upgrading my Mortars, Wizard Towers, and especially Air Defenses. Although I only upgrade one Air Defense at a time, I assume this is enough of a weakness for a TH9 rocking Giant-Healer to come along and stomp my base — maybe if I stop upgrading Air Defenses Giant-Healer will be kept away? I don’t know.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

And I don’t know how helpful this information is, but I’ve dealt with this as a TH7, where TH8s would come along and bully me for my lunch money, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as now. While I was TH7, only three TH8s harassed me, while at TH8 I’ve had 20 TH9s come and harass me.

(A little note: as a result of suffering this trauma, I vowed never to attack anyone with a lower Town Hall than me, and only picking on people my own size. I don’t want anyone else to suffer what I suffered, and I especially don’t want to be the bully and inflict such trauma on them.)

But in the end, Clash of Clans is just a game, and I won’t get too upset if I just have to deal with this for the rest of my TH8 career. Though it certainly is annoying to the extreme.

As you are a th8 you have only experienced one side so naturally your viewpoint might be a bit biased and skewed.........

When I was a TH8 it was incredibly frustrating how a TH9 was able to come in and take my loot uncontested.

The Archer Queen and beastly Level 6 Giants were the most frustrating to me, if the AQ was level 5 or higher she would suck twice as much.

To a lesser degree Level 6 Barch, the Jump Spell and being able to hold 4 Spells make it that much harder, the Level 6 Archers won't get 1 Shotted by your Mortars unless they are maxed I think. Barbs are meatier. Jump Spell guides them right to your DE Storage.

Xbows, AQ, another Wizard Tower, Tesla (if l7 esp) are especially hard to deal with when attacking a th9 with Barch or BAM, even GiBarch won't cut it sometimes.

Bases I skip unless there is close to 100k in each gold and elixir storage (so 700-800k total loot.) Are bases w spread out storages in 4 corners with a Wizard Tower defending 1 Gold and 1 Elixir Storage each.......

You could change your setup so each WT guards a Gold and Elixir Storage?

Also try not to keep a ton of loot on hand, that will help too.

Wizard Towers are the best defences against Barch,Bam, farming attacks since they attack multiplier troops at once fast doing decent DPS to kill them in a few shots.


TIP: WTs can only attack Ground OR Air troops each shot, no both. So if you deploy a flying troop like Minions while the WT is locked on to your Barbs the Minions can take it down without it shooting them down in 2-3 shots.

When you are th9 you will see that it's way harder to find loot, attacking th8s is pretty much your bread and butter. But

Wizard Towers will be your best friend in this problem good luck.
