You only upgrade to TH9 from TH8 when you have full elixir storages all the time and don't have anything to spend it on (aside from things in the lab you DON'T want to do like goblins.) So, this way, you are not wasting resources and can pump your elixir into level 9 walls!

You, personally, are not ready for TH9. A lot of your buildings still need upgrading. And I would definitely advise doing those pumps and mines. You never know when a 1 gem boost might pop up. HINT: the next one is at Xmas.

A few tips before going to TH9:

-Upgrade as many walls as possible to give you the advantage going into TH9. This will help you as it will give you a lot more diversity when upgrading to level 9 walls.
-Usually, finish most of your lab upgrades, aside from the ones you are never going to use
-DEFINITELY max your Barbarian King. He is super useful and you don't want to waste time upgrading him at TH9 - you'll have 50 hero levels to cover then!
-Usually players upgrading to TH9 are around level 85-95 (variable depending on troop donations and town hall snipes)

If you don't max your golem before moving up, you never will. You'll end up being one of those mid TH9s with a golem level 1. Too much other stuff to spend dark on.

You should max your king and golem, unless your not about clan wars.

Level your golem and hogs first for sure. You will need all your DE for the AQ and BK. Get your BK to 10 also, you really aren't ready for TH9 and that's not even considering your defense. Wait a month or so.

I would definitely upgrade the king a few more times at least if your against waiting till he's lvl 10 before town hall 9. Also I would definitely upgrade pekka said to lvl 3 before town hall 9. People even say you should upgrade golems to lvl 2 at town hall 8 but you don't have too. Also I've heard that level 4 hogs are beast against some bases at town hall 8 so upgrade those. Your gonna want to get level 5 hogs after you go to town hall 9 so you Shiite probaly get the level 4's out of the way. Keep in mind that your gonna need to do lots of dark elixer upgrades at town hall 9 so whatever dark elixer upgrades you don't do now are going to need to be done on top of the already plentiful amount of dark elixer upgrades. You should probaly get your king to lvl 10 so you can put most of your dark elixer into your queen once you reach town hall 9.

EDIT: I forgot your spells. Get those to level 5 before town hall 9.

Not even close, why would you even say? Get your walls all to level 8, max all your defences, max all your offence. And also I'd recommend getting the 5th builder before th9

Get ur king to 10, golems to 2, hogs to 4, skull walls, spells to 5, dark spells to 2 (unlock eq). U still have miles to go...

OMG these crazed maxers never cease to make me laugh. You look quite ready for TH9. Upgrade now, and you will get a headstart on your AQ and all those shiny new L6 troops. GO ahead, you will be fine. Rushers like Morgauth or SinofDusk and nubcakeboxer have all proven that rushing is totally fine as long as your farming troops are max. Good luck!
