Why not Barch the collectors? I get all of my gold/elixir that way.
Trophy range would be 600-1100 (Deadzone for abandoned bases)

Aside from barching, I use Loonions for Dark elixir storage raids. I search for bases with 1500+ Dark elixir.

Why not BAM with 1 barracks of barbs, 3 barracks of archers, and 2 dark barracks of minions? I have no problem keeping my 5 builders busy. Why train up an expensive army to net 300k of resources, when I can go after an inactive base for 400k?

It's quick, cheap and gets the loot I need, don't see what is noobish about that. I usually take some gobs too, or minions if I have de to spare

The noobish thing is... How much skill do you need to do that?

Lots of good advice on here, but I thought I'd offer you a back to basics solution. At the point you are in the game, it should be about maximizing raid speed. Assuming you really want to farm and farm hard, Barch has been and will be the most economical, fastest training, combination available to you. Two barracks Barbs, two barracks Archers. Carry all rage spells and bring a poison spell when you get them. I'm about to finish TH9 completely maxed, including walls, and use only Barch for farming.

A couple of caveats:
Cue your new troops right before going in for a raid, so have alot ready by the time you get back.
Be selective about your bases (hit bases where most resources you want are in the outer two layers)
Lay down some barbs in a row and then some archers in a row, but further out so the barbs can shield and the archers can shoot over the walls.
Use rage to get the barbs to break the wall fast, for when you need to get inside for loot

Be sure to farm in sessions. Raid for the loot only, don't worry about getting 50% of the base. Use your troops as economically as possible and get out as soon you get the loot. Don't worry about trophies when looting. Hit THs that are outside as you find them and maintain good farming trophy levels that way.
