Aside from buying them,getting achievements, and clearing debris, there don't appear to be many ways to get gems. Believe me, if l had the money to pay for gems,l would, but I don't, so l just want to know if there are any other ways to get gems. Maybe faster ways? If not,fine with me because I still love this game...alot. If there is a way,please let me know.
Definitely not faster but, cash for apps is a website and you can download it for IOS and android, you could redeem codes/ test apps for points, I have got a $5 itunes giftcard from it, took me a month though. Other then that, no there really isn't other then the ones you mentioned above. All those "free gems" links people always spam over the web DO not work. And get install mail ware/ virus's. Well you could be one of the top 20 members in the top 3 clans
But no, no other ways. If they made it too easy then people wouldn't be motivated to buy gems and sc wouldn't be making a lot of money. I feel sc is plenty generous with the free gems they give out.
