Can defending CC troops be killed mid-jump?

When the defending CC troops are jumping walls, can they be killed? Can wizards etc. shoot them down or a king swing his big sword to chop them down? I can't remember seeing ground troops die mid air, or seeing them attack when airborne. Now with poison spell, they can stay airborne for so long as well.

Now that I think about it, I can't remember seeing troops using a jump spell attack or die in mid air either.

Do ground troops have to be on their feet for any combat to happen?

yes they can die midair, so can defending/attacking heros, when they die they just fall straight down and end up mid wall
