X bows scares me more than AT. Their attacking bullets shoot out so fast as if they're doing tons of damage :eek:

They look scary, but their main benefit is the range, meaning they will be shooting for a long time before your troops reach them.

And many people waste that benefit by setting them to "ground and air".

Their DPS is only slightly higher than an archer tower that can be built at the same TH level.

1 ground only & 1 ground and air --> most people do it because they are afraid to be attacked from air, like myself
but then i looked at my war mirror, and im confident he will be attacking me with maxed hogs so ive sent both to ground only.

I think their main benefit is the hit points. A lvl3 xbow has 2300 hit points. The two combined have as many HP as the lvl9 TH.

And even in the up/ground and air position, they still have 1 tile more range than anything else that can attack both ground and air (archer tower). They are excellent for, say, mowing down lava pups and minions on the other side of the TH.

There are obviously other things that have damaged the hound. Your list is only 362 dps so the hound should last 17 seconds.

I see lot of ppl saying "xbow is overrated".. to me, you guys underestimate the xbows.
B4 hound, th9 with xbows target ground is an easy 3 star to loonion in war.
With hound now, TH9 with xbows target ground is an easy 3 stars to lavaloon.


TH9 without xbows target air is only a TH8 in an eye of loonion users.

But a very low level TH9. Yes, he has the 4th AD, but none of them are lvl 7, and none of his archer towers or wiz towers have been upgraded (didn't notice whether the teslas were, and can't be bothered watching again just to check).

You can't have a hound/loons taking hits from an Archer Queen. Xbows are no better than an archer tower vs a hound. They will not be what ruins your attack. Not killing the AQ before the lavaloon attack is a rookie move and will stop your raid quick.

Your claim that a TH9 with xbows set to ground is like a TH8 for a lavaloon attacker is just plain wrong. Incorrect. False.

Nobody ever said or implied that lavaloon could not three star a weak TH9.

*I describe that as a weak TH9 as they have zero TH9 level archer towers, zero TH9 level cannons, zero TH9 level archer towers, zero TH9 level wizard towers, zero TH9 level mortars...in fact those xbows are literally the only TH9 level defenses on the entire base...and two of the archer towers are not yet to TH8 max...and that is from when there were zero air sweepers where now TH9 gets two.
