As a farming enthusiast, TH10 is like heaven to me, good loot, don't need to farm in sessions, finally upgrades expensive enough to keep me farming.

I do have clan mates who dread to go to TH10, because they love to war. Imo, they're right, TH10 is all about infernos while TH9 can do most 3 star attacks with some wiggle room. Furthermore, strong TH9 war troops like valks and hogs become almost obsolete in TH10 level because they do not gain an offensive upgrade.

I think that they should scale down infernos or buff TH10 offense drastically so that TH10 3 star is not a dream and can be done without external help. As a TH10 farmer, I never touch other TH10s unless its collector loot, no need for myself to go thru the pain of dealing with infernos while farming

I'm a new TH 8 rather than a 10 and already it feels like a grind compared to TH 7. However I have a newly created TH 3 account to rekindle my passion.

This is the reason I'm not going to TH10.

Speaking of quitting, I thought you said you had quit after you posted a pic of one of your raids that showed everyone that you were botting .

Town hall 10 does not seem as fun as the other town hall levels. Variety in attacks are killed with the infernos. Every attack is focused on the infernos and nothing else. The upgrade times are just ridiculous as well as the costs and then people talk about town hall 11........

Exact reasons why I'm just planning to stay as a town hall 9 for the maximum amount of time.

EDIT: And might I add that almost all the replies have been helpful, which is a nice surprise. Thanks

Having said that, even with max heroes, 3 star attacks against decent TH10s are few and far between. Most of them you see on the web have had help from magical bunnies and they never show you the countless fails. TH10 attacking is just a big step up in terms of difficulty from TH9.

If you are bored then probably just take a break and see if you come back with refreshed interest.
I occasionally drop $20 on gems, both to smoothen my gaming experience and also to give my thanks to Supercell. Earlier, I used them for boosts, but now I mostly use them to make both heroes available in war.

I am not really bored with the game, but I feel that the TH10 war attacks, in particular, are taking too much of my time to plan, and I am not getting the desired results in return. It seems more stressful than fun sometimes. I am planning to scale back my warring to just once a week.

Infernos are the biggest culprits, of course, but beyond that the balance between offence and defence is simply unbalanced at TH10. Valks and hogs are the most glaring examples, of course, but pretty much every other troop suffers from this. Archer towers and cannons recieve around 30% damage boost, other defences also recieve decent upgrades. But look at offence - hounds get a paltry 500 hp, hogs valks nothing, wizards, golems almost everything gets very little. Only Pekka recieve a decent boost. We definitely need a boost to golems - they gain 300 hp at TH10. 300 HP for all that extra firepower! Lvl 5 dragons are still pointless except on defnece

I gladly take down single target infernos while farming - my giants aren't too bothered about them. But yes, usually, I skip. Even now, with one inferno down, nobody has attacked me despite me offering 400k/400k/3000 in Master III. Not having to worry about being looted is definitely a new and interesting experience

Errr, dunno what to say there mate.

War raids are obviously still a challenge, and you have to go to the trouble of planning around/managing infernos, so there's still a tactical element in there.

I would say stop war completely. I would envisage one of 2 things happening then. You'll either get bored enough to quit, or want in enough to rekindle the passion.

You are quite right, even only 2 starting good th10s isn't as easy as many love to claim. There are even 2 ex-crucible members in my clan that tired of the 'elite' life. While their attacks are regularly beautiful, they only aim at 2, and sometimes don't get it.

I think once you adjust mentally to the fact that 3* is pretty much off the menu, and a good break from war, you might get the hunger back.

    TH10s with 50+ hero levels, 9.5s with 40+, silent noobs<> needs you!

Agree with the edit, less fun.

I have a mini which finally made it to TH9, only an infant TH9 at the moment but already enjoy it more.

TH9 have cheaper upgrades in terms of resource and time. And yet have better loot conditions than TH10. I've learnt to live with that as an end game grind.

But wars change everything, you have a wide range of different options available to you at TH9, many of them are thrown out the window at TH10.

Funny how TH7 3 star dragon wars get a lot of complaints, but in mixed level clans the TH10 are GoWiPe wars trying to 2 star each other.

Might be different for pure TH10 war clans, but in a mixed war clan I pretty much have to use GoWiPe every time or I'm letting everyone down.

I upgraded to Th10 around two months ago. Please note the key words - 'for me'. For some people, it might be heavenly.

Why do I feel this way?

    - Builders are busy for so long that I have literally nothing to do unless I go for wall upgrades. I have some lvl 9 walls and a few lvl 10 ones, and I honestly do not care for walls anymore. Anyone worth his salt ignores all but the outermost walls anyway, and the rest just fail. In almost a year of warring, I have seen just two decent TH10 being 3 starred. When people are struggling to get 2 stars on my base, it is just not a factor.

    - Infernos: These are probably the most fun-sucking defences designed in the game. There is just no room for error, whether you are trying to tank the rays with a lot of golems or using freeze. You miss a spell or troop placement by just a couple of seconds and you are doomed. Your whole game becomes managing infernos somehow. Every war attack feels more like a job than a game, to be honest. Attacking enemy TH10 in Champion was less stressful even though I had just a minute to plan.

I have been warring since TH6, and never did I have any problems in adapting to new strategies. From giant-healer to dragons to hogs to gowipe to golaloon to hogowi to even valkyries, I have tried everything and 3 starred equal bases with every one of them, along with the occasional failures. Even as a new TH10, I was constantly 2 starring enemies. But in a cruel twist, it is actually becoming harder to attack even though my troops, spells and heroes (lvl 22+20) are becoming stronger. I still succeed most of the time, but it feels too stressful.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just become a casual player, or just quit. Although quitting is unlikely because of the time I have already put in. Any tips for making war attacks more fun? Because I honestly do not need a second job. Is it never going to get better?

PS: The one positive thing: farming with these heroes is a breeze, even though they are rarely available.
whether you are going to war with a lot of stress or no stress at all is completely your choice. if you want less stress, then just attack however you want without thinking of the result.

of course you will most likely lose the war if your opponent is more serious than you, but if you only play for fun, losing is not a problem right?

    That's a really good point.

My clan isn't anything like a serious war clan, and we lose plenty. We take the failures hard(ish) but only til the next one.

There is very little pressure from clanmates directly, only the pressure we put on ourselves to not look and feel like a mug to our buddies.
