EDIT: It should be 'less fun', instead of 'not fun'.
I upgraded to Th10 around two months ago. Please note the key words - 'for me'. For some people, it might be heavenly.
Why do I feel this way?
- Builders are busy for so long that I have literally nothing to do unless I go for wall upgrades. I have some lvl 9 walls and a few lvl 10 ones, and I honestly do not care for walls anymore. Anyone worth his salt ignores all but the outermost walls anyway, and the rest just fail. In almost a year of warring, I have seen just two decent TH10 being 3 starred. When people are struggling to get 2 stars on my base, it is just not a factor.
- Infernos: These are probably the most fun-sucking defences designed in the game. There is just no room for error, whether you are trying to tank the rays with a lot of golems or using freeze. You miss a spell or troop placement by just a couple of seconds and you are doomed. Your whole game becomes managing infernos somehow. Every war attack feels more like a job than a game, to be honest. Attacking enemy TH10 in Champion was less stressful even though I had just a minute to plan.
I have been warring since TH6, and never did I have any problems in adapting to new strategies. From giant-healer to dragons to hogs to gowipe to golaloon to hogowi to even valkyries, I have tried everything and 3 starred equal bases with every one of them, along with the occasional failures. Even as a new TH10, I was constantly 2 starring enemies. But in a cruel twist, it is actually becoming harder to attack even though my troops, spells and heroes (lvl 22+20) are becoming stronger. I still succeed most of the time, but it feels too stressful.
Sometimes I wonder if I should just become a casual player, or just quit. Although quitting is unlikely because of the time I have already put in. Any tips for making war attacks more fun? Because I honestly do not need a second job. Is it never going to get better?
PS: The one positive thing: farming with these heroes is a breeze, even though they are rarely available.
