Multiple or Single Inferno Tower?

For my village I keep them at multi but war base depends on our rivals offensive troops

Think 1 multi and 1 single is the best

Always have them on multi. But I have 1 set on single and 1 set on multi on my base war

Multi is the best. You can easily storm a base with singles by mixing in a few giants. The big threat are raged wizards standing behind the th and until you get the golems and some giants down those wizards will have sniped your th.

The only situation where singles make sense if you are in titan or in a cw with a clan where everybody has maxed heroes.

My warbase is a ringbase that looks like this
Infernos on multi
xbows on ground
teslas 90 degrees to the infernos so they flank all the pekkas and wizards
Ring around the th to prevent from pekkas and the king
Second ring with 3 tiles space to the first ring to avoid getting sniped by the archer queen.
Middle layer are defenses
Outer layer is open on the edges (not enough walls) and consists of Ressource buildings.

You have to be really careful no to loose your pekkas in the outer ring.
Then it is hard to not loose your golems in the middle ring
If you get everything into the center you get shot by everything so you might get the th but will never make it out for 50%

Either both multi or 1 multi and one single. Both on single is just asking for a beating.

Faster heating up time for single changed the equation a bit. I generally agree multi, the heal blocking off more troops is important defending most farming raids. I also agree generally with another opinion I read on the forums that the inferno is more about getting behind the tanks. Things seem to change if you're looking at low level infernos which do only a little damage on multi, I've seen a lot of level 1s punch above their weight when set to single. ... So yeah there's plenty to consider. I don't think either or split choice is wrong.
