Waste 80 million elixer or go to th9.

Ok so I have a problem, I have been slacking on raids for a while and so all I did was keep my lab busy. I then got back into it and started upgrading stuff. I am now in the position though of having only 3million left of elixer upgrades but I have about 80 million gold upgrades ( 125 skulls and almost all my defensive buildings, not including traps which are already max for th8) so the problem is that I have always been a believer of the max your base before you upgrade to the next th but this will mean a lot of elixer wasted, so should I waste it or should I move to th9 and dump the extra elixer into my 100 skull walls to make them Legos but buy nothing not even the archer queen untill I get my defences up. Honest opinions on my best route to take please

You don't need to max th8, but definitely max it offensively!! You can move to th9 anytime after your offense is done. Golems to 2 is a must, way too hard when you get your new aq and want to spend all your DE in heroes. Also get hogs to 4 etc..

Maxing defense, in my book, is a waste, it's actually better to have max offense and lower d for war. But you have to max that offense, too much to do at th9 and you don't have easy th7s to crush.

Ok, so u would move to th9 then and in after my 5 day upgrade for rage, it's golem next and I already have level 3 pekka and level 4 hogs so my offence I would say is not bad just got the dark spells valks minions to go in the lab

I maxed out TH8 100% and it was definitely worth it, because now all my walls are level 8 so I don't have to worry about upgrading them. I say just max out everything. If you really want to go to TH9 just max everything (including dark elixer troops) except for the walls. If you war a lot you should definitely max out everything in my eyes.

If you feel like maxing out is better than rushing it to th9 then stay

If you feel the elixir wastage is a problem since 90m is a lot you could upgrade 90 pieces of lv9 walls there

I would stay lol but depends on the situation if I'm at ur situation I would go th9 since resources wasta is bad bad

There is some truth to maxing offence and not putting as much into defence, if you are really active. However, just remember that at th9 you will now be a target from th10's.

There re really is no "easier time" to get those upgrades done. So my belief is that you should max them while you are at the town hall you are at.

80 million elixir doesn't have to be wasted either. Are you barching now? Barch is cheap on elixir, try much more expensive armies. Practice your spell timing. Elixir is only "cheap and easy" to get when you farm with cheap troops. Though arguably th8 doesn't have a ton of options, you can still go heavy and practice getting to the core of th9's (and getting the de storage).

Also, make sure your king is level 10. You'll want to pour your de into your queen once you hit th9.

Op you have a false argument going here.

80m in gold upgrades =/= 80 m elixer.

It is extreamly easy to farm for gold if you do not mind spending elixer.

That being said I think maxing your walls are a waste of time.

As long as your offense is maxed, it is always ok to make the jump to TH9. Just be sure to continue focusing on iffense and your walls. Making the jump now ensures that you can use gold on lvl 8 walls and elixir between offensive upgrades on lvl 9 walls. I advise against people wasting resources. Equally so, I preach offense before defense.

Honestly if you're wasting elixir you might as well just skip ahead to th10 and do everything there.

your walls don't need to be past lvl 8 anyway, just make sure all your pumps and mines are upgraded that will offset the loot penalty, then just do everything as th10

If you are wasting a lot of elixir now, you simply did some bad planning. I maxed my defense an my elixir troops (there was not enough de to upgrade dark troops back in my days) and then went to th9 with pink walls. Guess what defending became a lot easier with 2 xbows and the additional wizard tower, archer tower and tesla.
Walls are a way to dump ressources if you have farmed more than you need, nothing more. There is no need to do lvl8 walls at th8. I think you should do golden walls at th7, pinks at th8 and purple at th9. Everything more is optional. The defenses at a new th level will bring much more benefit. The 2 infernos at th10 alone for 10 million compensate maxing walls from lvl7 to lvl10 for 1 billion gold.
