TH9 development - opinion (good)?

charizzle[/B] I think having high walls with low defenses can come back to bite you now that walls have weight. So many th9 strategies ignore walls for most of the attack. I personally, being a lavalooner, love seeing people with legos and th8 defenses. They are a lot easier for me than max th9 defenses and level 7 walls.

That's just my perspective.

I am fully aware of it, but it's just the risk I am willing to take. I had few good defences from lavaloonion in war + all my air defences and teslas are at L7. But as I said, I am not gonna leave all defenses at TH8 for too long, I am doing them soon, I have 95 walls remaining until all are full lego.

One of teh good things about this game is that tere are many different ways to approach it.

Personally, I am almost the opposite of you, in that I don't yet have any lego walls, and indeed not even all purple yet (about 70% purple the rest pink), although I have been at TH9 for over 6 months now (having started playing October last year).

But I have all my mortars, all but 1 cannon, all but 1 tesla, 1AD, and several archer towers already at max for TH9, with usually 2 defences upgrading at any time.

What I regret most is not having maxed all my troops before moving up from TH8. I only finally got Pekka 3 a few weeks ago, and golem 2 is still 3 days away, both of which I could have done at TH8, which would have helped greatly.

Yup, hit the nail on the head right there. DE and hero upgrades are definitely the bottleneck if you're trying to max out TH9 before moving to TH10. Once your heroes reach level 22+, depending on your farming frequency and amount of game play, it becomes really difficult, at least for me, trying to keep both down consistently. That will really hold you back towards the end. If you're just trying to get the lab done before moving up and are fine with level 25 heroes then more power to you, but, contrary to popular opinion, I think it's worth it to have level 30s.

It does suck to be with full resources as a result of not doing things right. I'm sitting with 24 lavas left to do and 28/24 heroes and frantically trying to slow my G/E accumulations by throwing away E making pekka and dragon armies. It isn't bad for pushing though. I also have one more level on my EQ and Haste spells to do yet. I'm really torn on rushing early or sticking it out, but leaning towards staying as it is in line with what I wanted to do from the get go and I've stuck it out this long. What's another few weeks.

Here you go guys, I am back with an UPDATE of my progress: [17th August]
-HEROES: i am about to start them to 18/16 (i already have enough dark elixir)
-WALLS: full set of lego walls, 250/250

How did I farm walls? I hit champion as a TH8 and got 2000 gems. I didn't really spend them much, so I decided that I could use some of them for boosting. I was boosting 2 barracks for 20 gems in the evening before bedtime, that's when the loot is best for me. I managed to grab plenty of gold and elixir with barch but without heroes, but also a lot of dark elixir. It wasn't that hard tbh. I really like my base now, starting to look really good and strong

Now that I maxed all of my lego walls, I am gonna focus on dark elixir to keep heroes upgrading, although I will be busy next month which means I won't have as much time as before. And all the extra gold+elixir that I get, I am thinking about spending it on rest of the defenses + few buildings left (dark barracks, etc.) to max out everything except lava walls and heroes. So after all my defenses are done/maxed, I would resume doing walls. What do you guys think that I should do? Let me know with the replies.

I'm going to wait on lvl 3 xbows, and mortar and cannon upgrades until all my walls are lego. I won't be doing 30/30 heroes. I'm hoping for 25/25 and around 100 lavas before moving to 10.

That being said I think your strategy is better than mine (for war weight).

I am gonna do FULL lava definitely, I don't want to leave them for TH10, because of the loot penalty. To be completely honest, I really enjoy barch on TH8s. And that ends with TH10, so it's gonna be harder to get easy loot. But about heroes, I don't know aswell. 25/25 is a minimum, but I do really I hope I stay long enough on TH9 to max them out completely 30/30...

I am planning on getting heroes to 20/25 (aq/bk) and 250/250 legos. As much as I know staying and maxing out would be a benefit I belive that if I am able to get a head start on TH10 offense, not build a single TH10 defense or new building besides the collectors and mines then I will be able to farm efficiently. I rushed to TH9 with TH5 defenses . That being said I am sick of all this TH9 stuff and would love to just upgrade to TH10. But my plan is to have the offense of a max-strong TH10 with the base of a TH9. This way to spice up he game for me I can still farm like I did at TH9 despite the loot penalty. I am planning on doing barb king to 25 and getting a solid amount of lavas done farming with TH9 base using TH10 offense. That is my current plan but it may change once I am into deeper into the start of TH10, I may decide to go ahead and max heros to 30 because as we all know it is easier to get dark elixir at TH10. Lets be honest we don't loot TH8's for dark elixir anyway so loot penalty won't affect the dark. *That is not my final plan but that is what I have thought about so far*

Did you max all your defenses at TH8 while keeping only lvl 1 barbs as your only troop? That's what you'd do if you weren't afraid of tough wars.
