    Exclamation Same names allowed. ♥♥♥

In our clan, there is a friend called PeteBlack06
and his little brother who is 6yrs old, created Clash of Clans acct, with the same name!

we cant allow people in our clan with same name for managing purpose in case someone is rude or does unacceptable behavior, so we kicked one of them.

but how is this allowed in the first place?

    its ridiculous?

i guess for clan names, meh, it can slide....
but for village names?.... You gotta be kidding me

I always wondered about this issue too. I wonder why the developers allowed it.

LOL, I was once in a clan with 8... EIGHT "Matt"s

We called them matt 42 or big matt or aussie matt, etc.

This is allowed because Databases have what's called a "Primary Key" which is a value that must be unique to be able to distinguish each individual record. With Clash of Clans, it's the Player ID (Which you only really see when submitting a trouble ticket via in-game reporting). The name field is not the primary key, so can be duplicate.

    Interesting, thanks for the explanation!
