As others have said, xbow, due to it's high rate of fire, doesn't overkill much (when compared to AT), thus for low HP units xbow are much more efficient at killing them (it was around 20-30% better last I checked). Xbow also has much higher HP, which also makes them a tank. Xbow is misleadingly much more powerful than an AT. The idea that xbow is similar to an AT stems from an old article that was a bit short sighted (it ignored rate of fire, overkill, and HP. It only considered range and dps, which are only 2/5 of the argument).
