Yeah, as others have said, you are giving out-dated info here. TH10 farming as now easily as good as TH9, if not better because you can hold on to it easier.

I am new to TH 9, been about 2-3 weeks i think and i have been going about without xbows and i tend to do so for a while. I am doing good and get attempted for 3 stars only when my storages are full. I built new walls, WT, AT and AD. Focused on offensive upgrades to help in war and farm easily later. I am not a good attacker yet tho, dont have any th 9 troops yet.

    Xbow war weight unreasonable?

This is a question I asked in another thread and I'm asking that again here.

I've seen people say xbow weighs more than it's worth in clan war quite often. However, I still haven't seen anyone clearly explain why xbow isn't worth it's weight in comparison to other defensive upgrades. Can anyone here explain the thinking behind that in explicit terms, detailing the deduction process?

I would say get those xbows, but keep them at level 1. If you upgrade them to lvl 3 too soon, you will find yourself facing much stronger bases than you can handle.

BTW, I agree with the guy who said TH9 loot is better than TH10. From personal experience, as well as from all the replays that get shared in our clan. But TH10 loot is good too. It isn't the horror that we used to hear about in the forum before the matchmaking update. But, almost no one takes my loot or even tries too. This really lets me play however I want to play even if I am sitting on max loot. I am glad I came to TH10 instead of maxing TH9 completely
    TH11 - level 161 - BK32, AQ 40, GW 14 - 1 Billion GG - 6 million HH - 657 War Stars

    A lvl9 AT has 5 more DPs than a lvl2 xbow.
Only at lvl3 xbows make a significant difference with 10 more DPS than a lvl10 AT.
However a lvl11 AT as the same DPS as a lvl3 xbow.
Except the xbow has longer range and 2-3x as many hit points.

A couple of lvl3 xbows flanking your DE storage makes a big difference.

And no, don't put them down and leave them at level 1. Once you have them down, marathon them up to level 3.

xbows seem to weigh a ton, they seem to weigh more than what they add to your capability, at least at level 1, and especially when a couple level1 xbows are added to an otherwise TH8 base with otherwise TH8 offense

Yes they increase your war weight, BUT they are a solid defense with rapid fire and high hit points. If a group of low health troops moves into range they will shred right through them. Same for balloons if you set them to ground and air.

Once you have all the TH 9 basics covered i.e., camps, spell factory, research labs, etc. I would say go for it.

That is how I did it, and how my first mini account will do it when the time comes (in the next couple months).

In other words, 8.5. Do camps, spells, clan castle, and lab upgrades first, as well as at least a couple troop upgrades in the lab (I'm partial to lvl6 giants, max hogs, and max heal), go ahead and maybe do the new air defense but that's about it for defense...then add the new wiz and archer towers after you have the spells and camps...and after you have a couple/few war troops/spells upgraded and have a lvl10+ (or at least 5+) AQ, and you can attack low TH9's with war successfully...put down the xbows and get them to level 3 asap.

What he said. Besides one way or the other you are going to have to get them done.
