[OPINION THREAD] Global Chat: Do you like it or not?

Pointless for recruiting, very annoying people, kinda pointless. That's if you ask me. Split global up like the Clan Talk sub forum and keep a current are for off topic, like it already is.

I guess i dont understand. If you want to recruit do it here so you dont get rushed, ♥♥♥♥ or low lvl players. if your on the game you can be evaluating your opponent in war or raiding for resources. I rarely talk on clan chat as i boost 2-3 bar and that jus slows down my raiding. global is even more of a headache that i just avoid. that being said im in my low 30s and dont understand why you would want to start or even be involved in drama.

The current global chat system is a huge missed opportunity to expand the social aspects of CoC. There is no way to filter out the "noise" other than muting 95% of the people you find there. The 5% of us who aren't; brand new players, looking for love, racially insensitive, pre♥♥♥♥scent kids who just discovered swearing, or constantly begging people to join/looking for a clan would just like to have a conversation with someone other than our clan mates from time to time.

while the number of facepalms far exceeds the interesting conversations I've had, it's enough to keep me coming back and fishing for intelligent life. It saddens me to see all the forumers who say they never poke around global because I will never get the chance to happen by them and have a chat.

Global reminds me of the old AOL and Yahoo chat rooms (for those of us old enough to remember)- pre♥♥♥♥scent kids and hormonal preteens vying for attention ("I need co-leader", "any girls here?", "Im recruiting ur momz") with the occasional adult actually trying to have a conversation or do some actual recruiting.

Global chat is basically what every 10 year old wants to say but can't in real life because they'd get whooped.

I agree. I would like to eventually meet a forumer, but I doubt I will. And I also find it just enough to fish through for intelligent life forms at times. It's sad that what was once an amazing chat has turned to rubbish.

Sometimes global is used just like it should be, for recruiting, seeking clans, talking to people when you don't have a clan yet, etc. The rest of the time, it is a big pile of , and makes me think . I tried recruiting from global when I made my own clan, and it was a brutal time.

Global is basically a treasure chest of unintelligent life. There is just too many ignorant people that inhabit global, and make it such an awful place for a person who is just looking for a simple conversation. Although, I do find global incredibly entertaining when I'm bored. Just watching a teenager thinking he can get a girlfriend through a mobile video game is just plain amusing. Trolling in global especially adds to the entertaining effect.
