Im a th9 looking to implement Valks and golems in my hog attacks. My golems and valls are both lvl 1. The Golems will be used for the cc and archer kill squad. Then valks to complement the hogs. Maybe 10-15 valks in my army composition. My question is will my golem being lvl 1 be suffecient enough to kill archer queen and cc troops. I need to upgrade both but will doing valks upgrade to lvl4 first be a wise choice?

The choice really depends on your preference and how often you use that troop. Since most people use golems in their troop composition, I'd recommend golems first.

Valks are fun, but pretty much all attacks require golems, which is not true of valks.
Valks will kill ground cc troops and AQ quicker than archers and take less housing than golem for similar hp.
As a tank, lvl1 golem will be toasted by a cc dragon.
While golem is a great tank against static defenses, cc and AQ are harder to kill if they are following your tank. Better to draw fire and kill cc and AQ with a more versatile troop, and use golem as an attacking tank not a decoy.
Golems are the obvious choice for the most common attack strategies. However, valkeries are extremely powerful and quite often disregarded quite ignorantly.
If you only need 1 golem for your ks, you can request a max one in cc, and in that case I'd say valks. If you need more than one golem, don't have 30 cc space yet, or no one in your clan has high level golems, then upgrade golems.
