Spamming LVL 4 Dragon Raids - Against TH8/9? 🐲

Part of regular war clan that has th7-th9 and uses lots of dragons.
Spamming dragons in summer of 2015 as follows
TH7 -> 10 x lvl1 drags + 3x lightning = 3 stars no matter what the layout, many of the attacks use less than 10 dragons to save elixir.
TH8 -> low level Air Defenses, non anti dragon layout: 10 x lvl 2 drags will get 3 stars.
TH8 -> air defenses less than lvl 6, but anti dragon layout or lvl 6 AD poor layout, need 10 x lvl 3 drags + strong castle for 3*

TH8 -> air defenses lvl 6, anti drag layout, lvl 3 drags + castle are only getting 2* following summer 2015 update, the extra HP on buildings has tipped the balance.
A TH9 can bring 11 drags and an extra spell, and this is enough to three star virtually any TH8 even with lvl 3 drags, so lvl 4 dragons will be easy. A TH9 can also squash any TH8 with lavahounds and balloons, they just don't have enough air defences.

TH9: So far have seen a few lvl 4 dragon attacks on TH9 and they failed to three star, attacks on max level TH9 with lvl 7 air defences failed to get to the TH so only 1 or zero stars.

Personally I think spam dragons is too easy at TH7, this is meant to be a game of skill.

The 3 star dragons is on a premmie TH10 with TH6/7 defenses and L3 AD
The 2 star dragons is also on a rushed TH10 with TH8 defenses

why use lvl 4 dragons as a TH9. Waste of time... TH10 using drags to hit another TH10... Bad design could lead to 2 stars.

I think the lvl 4 dragons are mainly popular to donate to TH7/8 as CC troops. When you are a lvl 5+ clan you can now donate a lvl 5 dragon to a TH7. This is similar as donating high Valkyries in lower clan members CC.

I have now a rushed TH9 town with low/mid TH 8 defenses. This means that I get probably a high TH8 or very low TH9 against me and I wonder how LVL4 dragons will work on that. I will find out next week when the dragons are ready. I plan to use them with 6 lvl6 balloons in the CK, 3 lightning spells and 3 haste spells to get the balloons quickly to the center. I might also use a lava hound as a meat shield. Not sure if this will work but I will try it out. At that time I will also have a lvl 5 King and lvl 5 Queen. After the dragons I will upgrade my balloons to lvl 6 and then my lava hounds to level 2. That should give me an army that could defeat low TH9 opponents.

A nearly maxed th9 in my clan got 3 starred in a war by a th10 with max dragons the other day. I was quite shocked, I didnt expect it, watching it was like watching a th7 match again.

Only way this is possible is if his air defenses were not in the center of his base. That's what he gets for having them near the outside walls. Another way this is possible is if two air defenses were so close together one freeze spell gets them both. These are the only way a town hall 10 could 3 star a nearly maxed town hall 9 with dragons, the ONLY way (even with level 40 heroes).

By spamming dragons? No. But if you can funnel dragons properly so that they do not split/wander off, yes it can work. It still works on new th 9s, can surely get 2 stars i think. I have lvl 3 dragons and i have used Dragloon twice in war, first attack 1 star 95%, second attack 1 star 71%, so yeah i failed big time but i am still practicing. Lvl 4 dragons would have helped me.

A skilled TH8 could have 3 starred those bases too. They're so terribly rushed
