Think how much gems they've made in just barrack boosts I've boosted like five times in 2 days so they made a tonne more because barrack boosts cost more lol. So don't try say they've lost money

The thread basically deteriorated to "Supercell owes its players a free [insert free whatever here]".

If you boosted, that's your decision... not Supercell's. Sure, I boosted my barracks too. But I made that choice, not anyone from Supercell. I could've just as easily bought a 7-day shield, done nothing, or uninstalled the game. That, my friends, is what free-market economy is about: choices. Don't like it? Don't play the game.

The equivalent in gems is just over 2000 gems per player. That seems pretty generous to me considering they owed absolutely nothing.

While the OP came off the wrong way to state his arguement, to say they owe us absolutely nothing is a little strong choice of words. Supercell wouldn't be the giant they are without the players that supported them. Yes, it's a free to play game but I'm sure they made this game to make some money, not for a warm fuzzy feeling. If no one paid, we wouldn't be here discussing this.

However, I got no beef with what Supercell did on the 1 gem boost event. Like stated, they didn't have to but a good company does stuff like this to say thank you to the customer.

To OP, maybe coming up with a well thought reason to make a month long 1 gem event instead of just insulting would have gotten maybe more positive response in the beginning. Example would be the extra revenue made from gemming builders free. Honestly, I'm ready for it to end for this reason, lol.

One gem pumps boost = good loot (players win)

When loot is good players are encourage and tend to boost their barracks just like when there is golden hours a.k.a. spend money to buy gems (♥♥♥ win)

I'm pretty happy about the one gem boost knowing that regularly it costs 10 for 1 day. They've made it literally 70 times cheaper and you're not happy about it?

Also, I can probably say that 90% of all the money made comes from the top 1% of players that are fighting for the #1 spot. The profit made would probably be marginal from this.
