Town hall 8 - Should I wall grind?

I say max them... IMO It is easier to do them now than later. I maxed mine 6 weeks ahead of my lab so used all thoses extra loot using expensive armies, pushed to champs and be a donate random expensive troops to clannies. 😊

I disagree. If you really have everything else max, you will be wasting a lot of elixir by grinding walls. Go up to TH9 and you can use the elixir to upgrade the skull walls.

Personally, I would go ahead and move up--assuming your King is L10, all elixir upgrades done in lab, all building max.

The drawback of upgrading is that you can no longer loot TH7 because of loot penalty, and now TH10s can loot you. But if you commit to finishing skulls before using gold to buy new defenses, and use your elixir to upgrade offense (camps, lab, spell factory, troop levels), with DE going to Queen, you can come out alright. Looting will be tougher at first, but never keeping over 500k gold will help keep the target off your back. Once your new offense comes online, you will be able to attack as a TH9, and your walls will be done to help defend when the upgrades get expensive and you need to save large amounts of loot.

You can't upgrade skulls with elixir... only legos

So I have come to the point in Th8 where I am nearly max. Most of my walls are level 7 and I am contemplating if I should farm for full skull walls or not. I am not sure if i should just upgrade or not, and is it worth it so have all builders and just upgrading walls non stop. Looking for a few points of view to guide me in the right direction.

I'm 171 walls in of the grind (54 left)... worth it I think. Sitting in crystal 3 and now that most of my base has skull walls I rarely get raided. Had to go back 30 attacks in my defence log to find someone who tried to take the base on.

Most people take the TH snipe and move on.

Personally, I'd do between 25-60% of them, begin upgrading TH, and then keep going as th builds. Doesn't matter if you don't completely finish, 75% skulls is more than enough.

Farm those skulls it will help you in the long run, once you go into town hall 9 then you will look quite decent to start with!
I did the grind at town hall 8, now i have all 250 lvl 8's

I was the same but as soon as i had all 3 teslas on there last upgrade (10 days same as th) i started upgrading th

I had about 50% skulls, with 4 builders busy i had 1 which i upgraded remaining traps with, and when he finished every day i done some walls until a couple of days before when i maxed storage's

I was sick of th8 tho as i rushed th7 so much i had alot of catching up to do

So now iv been th9 for 3 weeks, i have 77 purple, 159 skulls and 14 legos (obviously 25 of the purple are new walls from th upgrade)

I dont regret it, i love th9 and i farm a fair amount, and i dont keep a builder free for walls, just when a builders done i spend all excess on walls and then upgrade the next thing

I should think within the next month il have all skulls and a few more legos but think of all the lost builder time from sitting as a th8? i wont rush to th10 as theres no need, now i have the queen im happy!

Don't grind walls. If you maxed your defenses and upgraded anything you are using in lab stop wasting your precious time and upgrade town hall. I don't see the point of wasting time and elixir for no good reason. Didn't do it from th8 to th9 nor from th9 to th10. Now after 1.5 years of playing I reached my maxed queen (king is 26) and about half lavas and 20 zap walls...

Yes, I think that is what I will do. I have all level 7 walls and only have Pekkas level 3 to do with elixir.

Skulls were so easy now that I think about it. I was in your situation, and I maxed all but 50 of them before going to TH9. What a great decision that was. If I didn't, I'd still be upgrading them and I wouldn't be able to do any of the TH9 upgrades like xbows, which cost 7 million gold by the way That's 14 skull walls.
