I'm a big believer in maxing with one exception: TH9 to TH10.

Once you get have all of your buildings and upgrades maxed, and once you have all LVL 9 walls at TH9, I think its a good idea to go to TH10.

Sticking around at TH9 for LVL 10 walls isn't worth it.

As a TH9 grinding walls, I tend to agree with this point now. Didn't a while back, especially pre walls counting towards base weights. I still don't have my heroes up far enough for my liking- but if I had to do it over, I would have spent more effort doing heroes first and as stated above, just get walls to lvl9.

I think rushing to TH7, maxing it & then again rushing to TH9 is a viable option. Technically optimal farming only starts at TH7 with 200 camp space & BK. TH8 doesn't add much to offence & is a hard brick for elixer as much of it goes to waste. TH9 again gives a huge boost to offence with more army camp space, the AQ & spell slot.

Defence is very much overrated in this game till TH9. Even if you don't build any & raid in sessions, you can outfarm anything that can be looted from you.
