3 Level 4 Lightning vs Level 6 AD

Quite possible OP could be a 7 going after an 8. I do that all the time with my baby 7.

My clanmates at TH7 use 3 rages going after TH8s (assuming we're talking about mass drags)
Quite succesful usually unless when dragons go anywhere but the center

depends on placement.....most new th8s don't know what to do with the third ad right away so it tends to be on the edges a bit, usually close enough for a few hogs.....that leaves 2 which essentially makes it a glorified th7, which at that point it's a fire and forget.

Just saw a recent replay of my other clanmate she was able to destroy the level 6 AD with level 4 zaps. So is it now not 100% like only 70% of the time that the level 6 AD will get destroyed? I don't know but hopefully it was just our mistake in deployment (though I really saw the lightning dropped on the AD) cause if it will only work 70% of the time then around 3 of the war strats (dragon snipe light, 813 dragoon, 11 light) will be unusable against level 6 ads that is until I upgrade my lightning

It has always been that way, although it is a lot higer than 70% - more like 95-98% when aimed properly IME.

With level 4 lightning you need to hit at least 17 out of the 18 lightnings, room for error is minimal (16 won't cut it, only 1040 damage).

Dropping lightning in the center is not even the best way to land all the hits. Might work, or might not.

A much easier way is to aim each lightning spell at specific spots to maximize damage, because lightning strikes are not random:

The first lightning spell should be dropped on the right side of the AD, the second on the left and the third again on the right. See image for exact spots.

Why would you waste 3 spells on lightning, just use your heroes and maybe a golem to take out the AD and you could have room for 3 rage or any spell other spell.

I've had only one raid where my AD was zapped. He did manage to blow it up after 3 Lightnings then proceeds to send 10 dragons. My defense ripped the dragons to pieces in no time, and the attacker went home with 3k G, 9k E and about 200 DE.

I'm fairly confident that even with all Rage my defense can still turn his Dragons into kung pow chicken but I can definitely see him destroying two of my storages and make it a far less embarrassingly fail raid.

I'm off ranting, the point is yeah with 6 spell space you can literally get any spell that will be far superior to 3 Lightning.

We are talking TH8 here. You may have golems, although you will be quite advanced within TH8 if so. The only hero you will have is the BK, and good luck getting him to get to any AD that isn't really badly placed, unless you are going all ground.

My second account is TH8, and I have got 3 stars with my first attack using the lightning/dragon combo in 90% of all the wars since I had lvl3 dragons. Which is several 10's of wars. I do usually ask for black loons in the CC, and those have saved me a few times.

I only actually got golems last week, but I really cannot imagine attempting to take out an ad with ground troops when my main attack is dragons.
