Have the 21-50 players not contributed to the ranking of their clan? How about they all leave? Then what happens? Their importance needs to be recognized.

Not really because i've seen clans with mb the bottom 5 are like champions or masters only... plus the top 20 work harder than the rest of the clan to stay up higher
In order to get to the top, you usually need to buy more gems than you win. It's just a cash grab.

The ranking score is the sum of the current trophy counts of the players, multiplied by a factor dependent on teh rank in the clan.
The top 10 count 50% of their trophies, 11-20 25%, 21-30 12%, 31-40 10%, and 41-50 3%.
I believe it is done this way so that smaller clans are not completely out of any chance in the clan rankings.
I always think that if i was in a top clan it would be fun to try and push to 1-20, sometimes in my clan we have a push to see how high we can get, never much higher then ranked about 8000ish but its fun to overtake a player on the list, and wake up and someone has pushed past you and you go raiding like mad to get back up, let alone if there was an added bonus of getting gems, save people sitting back doing nothing while others push
